on DDP, what's the best bang for your buck?

I like Ohana for dinner and Le Cellier for lunch but really whatever you'd like. If I don't do the dining plan, I would probably never go to the TS restaurants. I think the best bang for your buck would be to use them on lunch or dinner.

Fantasmic! package at Mama Melrose gets you appetizer, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink for one TS credit. :thumbsup2

I have a reservation for Le Cellier for lunch since its still only 1 credit. I must try the mushroom risotto filet! :hyper:

how do u book the fantasmic package?

Go online to the dining resv site and enter your date. It won't come up under regular dining. You have to then select "dining event" (pretty sure that's the category). Or call the dining hotline. You'll need a creditcard to hold the ressie.

I think Ohana is a good one for getting your money's worth.

Any buffet is good if you are a big eater, or a meat eater.

Unfortunately LeCellier used to be a good deal for dinner but it is now 2 TS credits for dinner.
Lunch is 1 credit, but they serve smaller portions at lunch, not to mention our steaks are now gone thanks to the new menu.

Another good find is WCC's bbq skillet if you are a bbq fan. It is all you can eat and very good.

Lecellier lunch still has the fillet and possibly one or two more steak options on the LUNCH menu. This a good use of a one credit meal. Also the buffets like: Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Hollywood & Vine, Ohana, The Captains Grill for dinner, The Wave dinner. I don't think you get the most bang for the buck with the buffet breakfasts, but it's a great way to get in the park before opening.

Go to allears.net site to look at the menus. You can get a pretty good idea there on prices and if the food looks good to you. That's what we do :) Good Luck!

I thought the whole fish at Kouzzina was a good deal for 1 credit. It's a large serving and was $31 last week (market price).

We find the Crystal Palace character buffett and Boma the best use of our TS credits. They are expensive if you pay OOP, especially if you have kids.

best and most expensive restaurants, but use only 1 credit?

Kona's Grill
Grand Floridian Cafe' great steaks
Captains Grill
O Hana's breakfast or dinner
Boma's breakfast or dinner
The Wave
Cape May breakfast is with Goofy dinner no characters
Liberty Tree Tavern
Hollywood & Vine great breakfast with characters
Whispering Canyons in WL for any meal is a hoot and good
Tusker House is Donald breakfast and dinner great
Le Cellier----- LUNCH still 1 TS dinner went to 2 TS
Prime Time Diner is so much fun
Germany
Mexico (in Pavillon)
had to take Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace off our list this year as was not so good last November 2010
also Tony's and Mama Melrose as to us they glorified Fazolis IMO

Any WDW place to eat TS or CS is expensive so will get your moneys worth if character buffet on TS depends what you want
many more to chose from as well go into allears.net and pull up menus on all places:thumbsup2

I'd recommend not looking for the best bang for your buck, rather just go to enjoy yourself and try new things.

I would say Boma dinner, Cape May Clambake, Les Chefs de France lunch, and Kouzzina for dinner are really good for the DDP. We also LOVE 1900 Park Fare for dinner, and although I've only been for breakfast, I hear Ohana is great for dinner too. If you guys like a rowdy crowd, you gotta check out WCC.

I would look at menus and decide what you want to eat...that is definitely the best way to get the most value out of your meals! :thumbsup2

That all said, I would avoid using TS credits for breakfasts (and some lunches, Le Cellier excluded) as they cost less $$ than the dinner do. If you would like to have a TS breakfast I would opt for that OOP.

Also... some TS will be worth more than others. The Plaza in MK has a pretty low cost menu so that may be something you pay for OOP as opposed to one of the other restaurants.

Did DDP last trip and felt we got our money's worth at Coral Reef (back when crab legs were on the menu), and Kona Cafe was extremely good (Dh loved his fillet). In hind sight, I wish I had known about Cape May for dinner. Their seafood buffet sounds like a great deal $$$ if on DDP.

Also, we did Prime Time and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Not sure if I'd call it getting more bang for our buck, considering we probably ordered stuff under the cost of one TS credit. But it was fun.

Le Cellier lunch can easily cost over $40 pp, same for WCC, especially if you get a milkshake or smoothie as your drink.

The buffets are great use too, but I think that a lot of times plated entree, drink, and dessert seperately cost more than the buffets. That being said we like to do the buffets, family style options. When I crunched the numbers for our TS dining choices we were within $60 of the total cost of the DDP pp so I'm pretty sure that we will easily go through $60 worth with 7 CS meals and 7 snacks. And if not, it's more of convenience thing for me than anything.

I'd recommend not looking for the best bang for your buck, rather just go to enjoy yourself and try new things.

This. :thumbsup2

One trip we used 1 Dining Credit at Tony's and 1 at the Plaza.
Our bill was much more at Tony's and our meal was terrible.
The Plaza was less $$ and it was fantastic.
The better *value* for me using my dining credit was The Plaza.
As others have mentioned, look at the menus at Allearsnet.com and book places that interest you in terms of options. That is really the best way to use your Dining Credits.
