? on changing the name for a reservation

If I make a reservation for my home resort, can I change the reservation to a differnt persons name?

Example: I make a reservation at the 11 month mark for my home resort. As the date approaches, I decide to give the trip to my parents as a 40th anniversary gift (or any other reason).

Can I call Member Services and switch the name or would I have to cancel my reservation and make a new one for them? This seems like a huge example especially if the resort is filled to capacity for the time scheduled.

Is this a common request?

Yes, you can have MS merely switch (or add) names on an existing reservation made using points. This is commonly accomplished.
