Hi! I'm confused! What exactly do the directions mean on "*Use 1 strand of floss and work 1/2 cross stitches." Does it mean stitch just "/" instead of the normal X?

Thanks!!

Sounds like that's what it says, although I'm not sure why unless it's to round out a corner or edge of the design. Too bad you can't post a picture of the design:D

That's correct, Paperina. Whenever a color symbol is followed/accompanied by **, you use 1 strand of floss instead of the standard 2, and instead of doing X you do / -- it ends up making a slightly different color so adds to the shading. :)

You will really notice the difference when you get to the bridge and the doorway of the castle. It looks like you can walk through the doorway or go right under the bridge.

You have to get it from Disneyworld, either in person, via phone, or from a friend.

How complicated is the cross- stitch? I made one while pregnant with DS (he's almost 9  ) but haven't done one since. Is it very large? I WANT it!

The design size on Aida 14 is 13 1/4" x 17 3/4". I only work on it a few evenings a week so it will take me a long time to finish it. I haven't stitched any complicated areas yet. The worst part is using the Glissengloss threads. It is a very relaxing way to unwind in the evenings.

I agree -- I've just started my first version, and haven't hit anything complex yet besides getting the sparklie thread to stay *in* the needle .

I'm modifying the pattern to make one daytime version (minus the fireworks and Tink) and one nighttime version (which is how it comes). I'm doing mine on linen instead of the AIDA it comes with, but I'm having a hard time finding a good linen for a night sky. :(
