I just bought at SSR and amd very excited. I'm already working on plans for a big trip next year. I know I want to go for 13 nights at the end of October and the beginning of November. I would like to spend the first 7 nights at SSR and the last 6 at OKW (mostly because I've always wanted to try this resort, and it will save a few points). From what I've been reading here, the smartest thing to do would be to reserve all 13 nights at SSR on December 8th (my 11 month window), and then in April call and see if OKW is available. If it is, then I change my original ressie and add OKW. Now, if that's all correct, here's my question. I have 150 pts. If I reserve all 13 nights at SSR, it will be 173 pts. So when I make that ressie they will automatically borrow 23 pts from my 2005 use year, right? Okay, so if I am successful in changing my ressie to split the time, then I will only need 158 pts. Will I then be able to bank the 15 pts I'm not using? I will be well within my banking window, but I didn't know if there was something wrong with banking pts that were previously borrowed. Do I have this all right?

Yes, you should be fine.

You won't be able to bank any of the borrowed points, but you can have MS make sure that the borrowed points are used first and the bankable points are from the current Use Year. They will usually do this without asking, but you should double check when making the reservation at 7 months.

Enjoy!

You will not be allowed to bank the points that were borrowed. Once points are borrowed or banked, they may not be returned to their original use year.

HOWEVER, in your case, you can use the 23 borrowed points for the reservation and ask MS to bank 15 points from your current use year. Those banked points will then expire at the end of your 2005 use year, so be sure to use them first for your next reservation.

Enjoy!
