I have a question about adding on through Disney.

I have a feeling that we will be adding on to our contract in the future.

I figure that we will close on the resale then think about future points later.

I know that once we get our deed for the 150 points we will be able to add on through Disney.

If we do this does our contract stay at the 150 points originally purchased resale plus the second contract of points (2 contracts). Or does Disney just at this to your Original contract and we would then have for exmple 210 points (one contract).

Any help on this question would be greatly appreciated.

If you add on at least 25 points, it will be a seperate contract. If you add on less than that at your current home resort, I think it is just added to your present contract.

Once you've closed on SSR, the lowest you will be able to add on is 25 points AT ANY RESORT but the min if 50 if you finance through DVC. Even for resale, DVC's goal is to attach any add on of the same use year to your original contract. It will always happen if you add on through DVC and usually happen if you buy otherwise. All add ons are technically separate contracts but they are treated as one if under the same master number, with home resort priorities as appropriate.

Thanks for your replies.

I understand that if you add on with Disney that we would be on a waitlist for our particular use year.

If we add on by resale this would of course be a separate contract.

Clarifying my question is that if we add on through Disney does the size of our original contract grow with each add on or would we have several separte contracts.

I am asking because we would want the option of having l separate contracts in case we wanted to sell a few points in the future (assuming that we will add on of course).

Hope this crazy questioon makes sense.

Again thanks for the repliesl.

It would be a seperate contract.

Dean, I thought you could add on any number at your home resort. I have a friend who has 151 points.

If I have one contract now, and I buy an add-on through Disney for the same use year, will I wind up with 2 packets of property that I can will separately to my 2 children, or will Disney merge them together into an unbreakable whole?

They bought 151 originally. You can get any number from DVC but it must be at least 150 initially and at least 25 after that.

They will be two separate ones legally but DVC will treat them like one for reservations, banking and use purposes.
