I probably should be posting this on the wedding board for the former Dis Brides, but there has been a lot of heavy stuff on this board lately, so I thought we could lighten the mood here a little bit :goodvibes

DH and I are celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary today and I'm wondering what you all did to celebrate your first year together with your SO? Was it something really unique or simple like dinner and a movie?

TIA for sharing!!

We went to Charleston for a week for our first anniversary.

Happy anniversary to you!

I have only been married 6 months, but in 6 months time my husband and I will be celebrating at Disney World! I never expected such a trip for a one year anniversary, but hubby surprised me a couple of days ago! He said he would have loved to surprise me closer to the actual date, but he needed my planning skills ;)

We started a tradition that we still do 23 years later. We go away for the weekend, just the two of us. Normally, we pick a small town, stay in a bed and breakfast or small inn, and spend the weekend exploring the area. Our first anniversary we did Key West. We've also done St. Augustine, Coral Gables, South Beach in Miami, Vero Beach, Mount Dora, the Homosassa Springs area. We've ventured farther afield as well, going to New Orleans for No. 10 and Chicago for No. 20.

Thank you!

What a great surprise from your husband! Being able to plan it would be a major part of the present for me so be sure to enjoy it ;)

Happy 1st Anniversary to you!

We went away for the weekend to a bed and breakfast and have continued that tradition for the last 15 years. :)

We go away for the weekend and just enjoy each other. :lovestruc

Have fun regardless of what you do!

We went to Lake George, NY for the weekend. It was a gift from my in-laws. We also continued the tradition most years and have done lots of weekend trips in the region, Vegas, and for our 20th, we are going on a cruise.

We went to Disney :goodvibes We actually went a couple weeks before our anniversary though so on our actual anniversary I think we went to dinner and then ate the top layer of our cake.

Our 2nd anniversary is 4 weeks from yesterday and I think we'll probably stick to the nice dinner tradition. Big anniversaries (5, 10, 15, etc) will be spent at Disney!.

Congrats on your 1st anniversary!!!
