On a holiday weekend why close US at 5pm?

We re looking to go on MLK weekend and I was surprised that US is closing at 5pm. Is there some night thing that happens? Cause IoA does not close until 8pm.....and that seems early to me for a holiday weekend.

I just looked at the park hours on the US app and both parks appear to be 9-8.

Wouldn't be unusual though if it is the case, often there are private special events that close the parks early. When we went last year there was a day where studios closed that early. It was a special event for some group

I don't see either park closing at 5 on Monday, January 18. Both parks are open until 8 pm.

Make sure that you adjust the date on both parks when you are looking. You were probably looking at Oct. 18 for the Universal Park.
