Beth, glad you are having a great trip, can't wait to hear all about it!

Hello! Here we are on our last day of vacation. It always ends too soon! Time to get back to reality, and seemingly endless loads of dirty laundry. Yuck.

So get this..... I am here at my inlaws, this trip isn't even officially over yet, and I am already working on plans for our October trip!!! :lmao: It's a sickness, I know. ;)

Wow I am surprised you waited so long. I usually start when I am still there.:lmao:

You are too funny!!!

I grew up in the Pismo area. DH owned a shop in Solvang but sold it when ODD was born for a more sable job.

Sounds like you guys are having a blast.

:rotfl2: I was starting too and I told myself I had to wait until we were at least almost done with this trip!! :rotfl:

I am so jealous! I love Pismo!! I'll have to pick your brain when I get a chance because I'd love to learn more about the area. :)

Well, I'm baaaack. Whew! What a trip. I had a blast. I am exhausted though. Look at this mess I had to clean up, including 6 loads of laundry! :faint:

But I've been working since I got home and it's pretty much done, except for the laundry of course.

I have lots to talk about and I actually took pics this time!!! 474 to be exact. Once I started, I couldn't stop. :lmao:

I took lots of food pics from Disneyland too. I never felt comfortable taking pics of my food, even though I like looking at the dining threads. But once I got over that, I just kept taking them, even of food from other places so get ready to drool....;)

I'm really tired though so I won't be starting the actual TR tonight. I will soon though! I promise. :thumbsup2

Glad you guys are home safe and sound and also glad I got to be a little part of your trip! Looking forward to the food porn! Stay cool today . . . .

Hi Beth!!

Welcome home!

I loved reading your Pre Trippie, and now looking forward on seeing how all things went. For some reason your pics aren't coming up at all? :(

Did you eat at Splash Cafe in Pismo? That is always a must when we go there.

Really, the pics aren't showing up?? I can see them..... How strange. Are they showing up for anyone else? :confused3

We didn't eat at the Splash Cafe, but we passed by it and the line was out the door! So it must be really good.
I am so weird. I don't like any seafood, at all. Which is a shame because a lot of the good places to eat up there are seafood restaurants.

I checked out their menu online just now and Ruben (my DH) does like clam chowder so maybe we'll add that to our list for next time and I can just get a burger or something. :thumbsup2

I want to be back there right now!! I love it in Pismo. ::yes::

I saw your luggage pic--was there more?

and we're waiting . . . . . and hungry! popcorn::

It's finally here!!! After much planning, plotting, packing and panicking over potentially sick kids, our vacation is finally here. :hyper:

I've got everything ready to go, and had woken up early to get everyone ready. I waited until around 9 a.m. to wake up Ruben since he'd worked the night before, and things were going along right on schedule.

Wait. What's that noise? A huge truck has pulled up right in front of our house. It's the Nevada Power company arriving to do some work on a power box that had been leaking some kind of chemical outside our house, into the ground around it and killing all our landscaping. Which of course our wonderful homeowner's association was quick to point out to us, as if we hadn't noticed.

Obviously I was happy to see them since who knows what kind of junk was leaking out of there, BUT we'd called them days earlier and it just figures they'd show up now! They informed us that the power would have to be turned off while they worked. Then Ruben said he didn't want to leave until they were done and we made sure all the appliances came back on okay since we were going to be gone for so long and had 2 freezers and a fridge full of food. Which made sense, but that meant sitting around twirling our thumbs waiting for them to finish.

Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up! I was so bored I took a pic of the guys out there doing their thing:

They finally finished their work, and after a quick stop for gas we were on our way.....2 hours later then I'd hoped, but better late then never!
We made one stop for lunch in Barstow and arrived in Anaheim around 4:15.

I was supposed to meet up with some of the ladies from the Disneyland Girls Only trip at 4:30 to do a fun scavenger hunt/quest that one of the girls set up for us, but I had to call them to tell them I'd be late and not to wait for me.
Our first stop was at HoJo to check in and I was so excited. We'd never stayed there before and had booked it for one night to check it out and finally see what all the fuss is about.

Check in went smoothly and our room was really nice! Not fancy or anything, but certainly nice, clean, and we had a great view.

Our two queen beds:

Microwave and fridge. Kind of on the small side, but enough to keep bottled water and soda cold.

Bathroom. It was nice and clean. I wish there was more counter space but that's not a huge deal.

Here are some shots of the views we had from our balcony.

I was excited there was such a great view as I knew that would come in handy later on in the evening for the kids to watch the fireworks from the balcony. The plan was for Ruben and the kids to hang out at the hotel and swim while I met up with some of the DIS board ladies. (It was a block out day for their Deluxe APs, but not for my Premium) We all hopped in the van so they could drive me over to the DL drop off area and then they were going to go grab some dinner.

So I was on my way to find the ladies for some fun! :cool1:

Nope, just the luggage pic and the ones of the tees from earlier in the thread.
My kids are hungry too, so I'll have to stop here for now. I'll post more later. :)

I almost forgot to mention that shortly after we got on the freeway heading out of Vegas, the radio started playing the Hotel California song! (as in my TR title) I told Ruben that was a good sign. ;) At least I'd hoped it was! :rotfl:

Yay! You started your trip report! :goodvibes

I made the mistake of reading it while my mom was in the room. She kept asking all sorts of questions: What hotel is that? Why did she take that picture of the workers? Is that Disneyland? Gotta love moms!

I'm looking forward to reading and seeing more! :thumbsup2

Truly that song playing was a sign that all would go well. Did you walk to Disneyland from Hojo's any of the days? If so how far was the walk? I am trying to convince DH to stay at Hojo's instead of onsite to save money.

Michele
