I was IN a house today that could have qualified. OMGOSH I want to have one of those Hazmat showers now! BLECH!

I bought these 2 metal lamps at a yard sale, the house looked perfectly fine from the outside and the garage, while cluttered, was clean enough.

She had a chair that I wanted to look at so I went inside with her and I about fainted. It stunk so bad and there was dog hair everywhere. There was stuff all over the kitchen I mean crusty food, dishes piled so high they were leaning to one side, dirt, bugs, the floor was who knows what colour. I looked at the chair and made some excuse about it being wide to fit through the door ( which is true) and got out of there as soon as I politely could.

omgosh I was so disgusting. I had already bought the lamps but as soon as I got home I threw out the shades. I figure the wrought iron cant be hiding anything too nasty can it? lol

*shudder* Im going to go have a shower now.

Ewwwww!!! You never know what the inside of someone's home looks like. :scared1: I can't help but think about some of the threads back at Christmas time....people were posting about the home-made treats they make for teachers. Some other posters & I mentioned that we never eat the goodies given to us unless we know the family well.

Your post describes exactly why & as soon as I read it...it reminded me of the homemade goodies threads.

Said in my best British accent.... "Aggie, Does it smell like pee pee??"

How disgusting!!! I did a practicum in graduate school that included doing home health therapy and going into people's homes. I have to say, I saw some disgusting things, like moldy chicken nuggets in a microwave (don't ask what I was doing with their microwave!)

This is why I carry hand sanitizer wherever I go!!! GROSS!!!!!!

A few years back, a coworker asked me to feed her cat while her family was on vacation for a week. I was totally grossed out by her house: the cat was using the dirty clothes on the laundry room floor as a litter box, the family had left town with moldy dishes piled high in the sink, there were several bags of newspapers sitting on and around the diningroom table, it was disgusting... and my coworker had two young kids!!!!

I was of half a mind to get a mask and rubber gloves and clean the house (at least wash the dishes and launder the clothes), but decided that it wasn't my place to do so. I never mentioned it at all to my coworker.

I went to a professional photographer's home one time. She worked out of her home. It was DISGUSTING. Food with dishes piled on top of one another, stacked about a foot high. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and never went back.

I had a friend that lived like that. He was a sweetheart of a guy but his house was a pigsty.

I sometimes let the clutter take over but I can't handle being filthy.

exactly. Hey I have 3 kids, a dh, a dog and 2 cats. Clutter is a given but dirt? Especially like this house??? GROSS!!

I dont claim to be the worlds best housekeeper by any means but you wont find week old dishes ( or even day old ones) in my kitchen or moldy, crusty stuff on my counters. Who lives like that?

My best friend does or at least used to. I haveen't been to her new house and doubt I ever will. I have tried to help her clean many times and it would look the same when I went back. One time IT was so bad I told her if her Dh wasn't so sick (cancer) I would call child protective services on them for that mess. They have 4 kids and never taught them to clean up after themselves so it will just get passed on down the family.
