Omg!!!

Thanks for the post about Cape May. We decided to stay an extra night at the Fort in October and have a reservation for breakfast at Cape May the day we leave. I thought it would be nice to leave with a bang. Glad to hear the food is better then Chef Mickey's since that is the one we cancelled.

Thanks!! :thumbsup2

I guess I'm weird. I happen to like Chef Mickey's.

Cape May is really good too!! But crab legs are too much work :lmao:

We like it to we always do breakfast there once on our trips. Although our next trip we are going to skip CM and do Crystal Palace for breakfast.

They actually have other items besides steamed clams at Cape May? I never noticed! My DH gets embarrassed by my uber-clam fest at Cape May. I might sneak a dessert in-between my 4th and 5th bucket of clams. Maybe. :lmao:

You can always find the Buffalonian at a seafood buffet. They're the ones buried in clam shells.

I call shenanigans! We ate at Cape May in April, and not a single steamed clam did I see. It was hard to see over the pile of crab legs on my plate(s), I'll admit, but I would have made room for some steamed clams. Bummer. Now I know we'll have to go back.

I can't believe I spent $34 at Chef Mickey's last night!!! I went to Cape May tonight. And IMO it is by far some of the best food on property and fir what you get a decent price!!

That's a fairly good seafood buffet and we have eaten the Seafood Buffet like twice in the last 5 years or so. I was going to mention that if you are active duty (which I don't think anyone is) or retired the Seafood Buffet that we went to last year at the Garden Gallery at the Shades of Green was out of this world. For like $18.50 the all you can eat buffet has oysters on the half shell (my favorite), steamed/spiced peel-n-shrimp, clams, snow crab legs, several fishes and like roast beef and of course all the go withs and salad/dessert bar which was IIRC a little limited.

We even planned to eat there this year and was going to confirm the menu, but it looks like the Seafood one is gone:eek:. Maybe after me consuming like 4 or 5 dozen oysters last year they finally lost money and quit doing it:scared1:

They still have the Prime Rib buffet for the same price, but I can make that on the grill and we even are taking a standing rib roast with us for that very meal.

Another really good place at least for lunch with large portions, quality food and a good selection is House of Blues in DTD.

I guess for our seafood fix this time we will be stuck to a dinner at Coral Reef (haven't been there in about 7 years) and lunch at Fulton's.

Over the past 25 years there are only 6 CS/FS restaurants that we haven't eaten at in the Parks, DTD and the BW. We have yet to eat at any at either the Swan or Dolphin. The last time we ate at Chef Mickeys was back in 1985 when we did a Character Breakfast the day we were leaving with our pre-teen sons and my sister who was with us that trip. One that I will probably never eat at is the ABC commissary and Hollywood & Vine is a close second ... both in EPCOT.

You mean Hollywood Studios, right? ;)

Yep that EPCOT I wrote meant MGM ... I'm bad, but am willing to admit it :lmao: and what in the heck is Hollywood Studios ... did Disney open a 5th park:rotfl2:

Nice catch ...

Hollywood Studios is the park formerly known as Disney's MGM Studios and after that just plain old Disney Studios. It's gone through a couple of name changes over the years. :goodvibes

...and thank you. I try.

Hollywood & Vine is a close second ...

Hollywood & Vine is one of our FAVORITE breakfasts on property. We came upon it by accident. We were leaving Disney that day and were waiting at the gates of the Studios at 7:45am (9am opening) to get a quick ride on Toy Story Mania, then head home.

Just out of curiosity, I asked if there was seating at breakfast. They said sure!! and let us in.

As two adults, with adult children, we have NO CLUE who the characters are, BUT the breakfast is actually VERY GOOD. Lots of variety and lots of selections. Eggs, ham, bacon, cheese grits, corned beef has, waffles, and lots of other selections.

We then were first at rope drop and rode Toy Story and were on the road by 9:20 am.

So now we 'try' to make an early H&V reservation on our last morning, have a good breakfast, then spin and play with the Toys, then start our drive home.

Having a good sit down breakfast from 8 - 9 sure beats waiting at the gates from 8 -9.

We ate at Hollywood and Vine a few years back and enjoyed it a lot as well. We also like the ABC Commisary. It's a tradtion for us. ;-)

That sounds like a plan. Do you recall the rates?

:eek:No steamed clams??????

We haven't been to Cape May in about 1 year or so. Please don't tell me they quit serving steamed clams!!! That was the only reason I went to Cape May!!

They can keep the crab legs. Too much work for such a tiny reward. Now...if they replaced the clams with lobster claws and tails, I'm in!!!

Deb, don't worry!! As of Labor Day weekend, there was still steamed clams and steamed mussells on the buffet. (Not everything is on every side of the buffet, so you may have to walk around to find them!!)

Whew!!! Thanks, Carol!! I can sleep now, knowing this.

Disney replacing clams with lobster? The same company that replaced prime rib on most buffets with old shoe leather...I mean roast beef?? :rotfl2:

I would expect if they ever replace the steamed clams, they will replace them with something from Mrs. Paul. :sad2:
