OMG, what's become of Pal Mickey

Has anyone else noticed, page 347 in the 2006 Unofficial Guide, under the heading Pal Mickey, says........"Occasionally he shares something personal like,"I could totally get baked on a good joint right about now.Are you holding?".........Whaaaaaaaat? Does he really say this? Do you think it slipped by the editor of the 2006 UG, and maybe one of the writers put it in as a joke? My (adult) DD brought this to my attention last night and we didn't know what to think . I sure wouldn't want one of my DGC to hear this, how would I explain it, and worse yet, what would they think of Mickey

Don't know if this is true in the US, but here where I live a "mickey" is a certain size of liquor. For instance, the smaller than 24 oz of rye or rum would be called a "mickey", as in "I'm going to the store for a mickey of rye."

Can a moderator please help , I am the original poster, but when I logged in I was mistakenly under my 11 yo granddaughters user name . She was at my house this weekend and must have been looking at the Dis boards under her user name. I saw she was on the boards but just assumed it was under my user name. Anyway now I am soooo embarrassed and upset that she will log in after school and see this thread under her name. Just the one thread her Mom and I wouldn't want her to see. Can a moderator PLEASE put this under my user name (karensi) , which I thought I was doing at the time I first posted. Oh my , what have I done .

Thank you mosmom, this is too funny. I am the dd of karensi, swebri94 mom. This is too funny although my mom doesn’t think so (Karensi is the grandmother to swebri84 LOL).

We are now under my dd user name, were do we unsubscribe LOL THanks so much!

In the upper left hand portion of the screen, click on USER CP and you will see the thread there. Then unsubscribe should be an option under the thread name.

I don't think they can do that unless you requested this thread be deleted and then started over.

Still need help . I logged in (again) under my DGD,swebri94, then clicked onto unsubscribe to this thread, but don't see that it changed anything. The thread was still there, under her name. Just afraid she will see this if she checks her posts after school today. I know she doesn't check posts that her grandmother (me) has written. Can I get this thread off the boards under her name? Probably the only post I have ever written that I wouldn't want her to see. Thanks, Karen (karensi)

Go to the tech board and ask them to delete the thread entirely.

you could get the thread deleted... but you cannot change a poster's name... but if you "unsubscribed" dgd from this thread, it will NOT show up in her "user cp" when she checks threads after school...

When you go to USER CP you will see the name of this thread and directly under it, it says "UNSUBSCRIBE" and you can click on it. It will then disappear from her subscribed threads.

once you are in the "user cp" screen, under the title of each thread, is an "unsubscribe" option... simply click it

Thanks everyone, I think I did it (unsubscribed to the thread under DGD's user name, that is ) So now, getting back to Pal Mickey and the UG. Are you saying that the editors just put that in for a joke? If thats the case then it is pretty funny. Im glad to hear that Pal Mickey really doesn't say that. I know we all grow up sooner or later, but not Mickey . Karen
