I won't bore anyone with the dirty details (I'll save that for the Trip Reprots board) but we had a fantastic Disney World vacation! First, we were registered at the Polynesian, my hands-down favorite resort. Then, we got upgraded to concierge! The weather was 78-85 mostly, no rain(at least not on us!)We wore shorts every day and went swimming several times. In January, unbelievable!

Being on the monorail line made this trip one of the most laid-back, easy access vacations we've ever had. Christian went in his wheelchair and DH had an ECV(rented from Randy's) which really made the trip doable--he was able to fully participate and save his stamina(he had been released from the hospital only 3 days before we left). The only health-related "event" was one night when Christian had a 10-minute seizure, probably from being over-tired.:hippie:

DS20 decided to ditch us pretty much from the start, which was just as well. He likes the big rides and DH, Christian & I can't do those, so DS20 took 13 and they went on all the coasters. After two days, DD13 decided she wanted to hang out with people who actually stop to eat and like to shop (that would be me). DS20 mostly avoided us, slept all day and stayed out all night. *shrugs* His choice. It's our last whole family vacation I imagine. Considering everything, it went rather well.

YAY! How exciting that must feel! :cool1:

Im hoping for an upgrade in a couple weeks - from POP standard tooooo I dunno.... Grand Floridian concierge, perhaps? :rolleyes1

What?!?! Its a year of a million dreams, I can dream! :confused3

Congrats on that cool room upgrade! WOOO! :woohoo:

Sounds fun and upgrading is always nice. We were upgraded from an allstar to corrannado springs due to some (not) cleaning issues.

It seems like we had only recently joined the double digit club but already we are at 75 days!!!!!

MIkeeee

Our first DIS cruise we got bumped from a inside cabin all the way up to a cabin with a balcony! It's those unexpected niceties that make it fun(ner)! :thumbsup2

Cool! :cool1: Congratulations on the upgrade! :thumbsup2 I'll have to keep an eye out for your TR.

We're planning a family trip in July, and it will be our first one at WL. The past family trips have all been at Poly; figured we splurge for convenience while the kids were younger. We stayed at the Swan for our anniversary trip without the kids last month. I think we'll be aiming for the Boardwalk area when our youngest hits 8 or 9...

Congradulations on the upgrade

I love the Poly Concierge.:goodvibes

This is so wonderful for you. We just got back from the Poly too last month, and we had to pay for our "wonderful" cough, cough, see my review thread of the Polynesian concierge. I hope they treated you nice there. We wont be going back to concierge. We will save our money for some nice food and shopping etc. and we have learned not to book our vacation with 3 weeks notice too. But I know you have your hands full with your ds and dh so you really deserved it!! Glad you had a great time, hmm now I will have to read your trip report!!
