no not the kids, DH's leg :rotfl2: It shakes the whole bed!! He must have Restless Leg Syndrom but he won't believe me! I work nights so I come in when is has been alseep for hours, it just goes and goes bam bam bam I really am like WTH!!!

I think I may have to video it to get him to believe me! I can't believe he sleeps through it. He usually wakes at a pin drop. :confused3

Its making me nutts!! PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!

Restless legs syndrome keeps you from going to sleep. If he is kicking his leg while he is asleep he has periodic limb movemement. My husband has this and was given the diagnosis although I could have told them that myself. Restless leg syndrome (RLS) has medication that usually works. Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD) has medication but the success rate is low.

My dh did this to me for over a year! I ended up addicted to Ambien just so I could sleep through the night with him. He had started on a new medication for depression and for some weird reason it was causing him to jerk his legs in the night without waking himself up but enough to wake me up. He tried different anti depressants but none of them helped with the depression issues so he had to go back to the one that made his legs go nuts in the night.

Long story short his friend at work gave him a Dilantin pill to try one night to see if that helped because Dilantin is what they give to Parkinson's Disease patients. Lo and behold it worked like a charm.

Dh went to our doc, told him and he was willing to give it a shot so he gave my dh a script for it. Stopped the legs from jerking immediately. Bad part of it was it has nasty side effects so dh had to get his blood tested regularly to make sure it came back ok.

Then we found a herbal remedy that stopped them all together called Ormus which sounds like some weird voodoo stuff but it honestly works so great and I take it as well because I DO have :yay: RLS but when I take that I never get it.

I hope you can figure something out with the leg thing because I know how frustrating it can get!

Maybe you should tell him to stop drinking those 5 cups of coffee before going to bed. :rotfl:

Really... hmmm. I will have to look at that. He def can get to sleep fine and stays asleep. Its only me that has a bouncing bed to fall asleep in LOL.

I wonder which leg it is, he has a screw in one knee. I think I may put a cup of water on the bed and video so he will believe me.

I also heard it could have something to do with a deficiency of a vitamin??

Nope, thats me, I drink coffee until I go to bed. He is smart and stops in the afternoon. I wish it was that tho

Well, my husband used to kick like a mule all night long, to the point that I was begging him for us to get twin beds so I could get some sleep. He didn't believe that he was kicking.

Sometime last year, another thread like this one was started here on the DIS, and someone in that thread said that her husband had been to the Dr. for this problem, and the Dr. said he could prescribe some medicine, but he wanted the husband to try something first that sounded really crazy, but worked. A bar of soap tucked under the fitted sheet of the bed, near his legs. The poster swore that it worked!

I put a bar under our sheets that night, and YES, it's a really kooky thing, but it works!! Don't know how, don't know why, but it works.

Some people say to not use Dove or Dial. We use Lever 2000.

You can google it and there are tons of pages about this remedy.

Good luck!

I heard that before too, I guess I better try it now

That is what triggers it for me. When I am lax (read: lazy) about taking my multi-vitamin everyday - my RLS starts up.

I've had RLS for years - I finally got help a couple years ago.

One word - MIRAPEX.

Miracle drug.:thumbsup2
