As many of you know, I returned to college after 20+ years to get my teaching degree and just graduated in May.

I just got a phone call for an interview for next Friday!!! It is a long term sub position for the entire school year....4th grade!!! I LOVE that age and did my student teaching in that grade level.

Please send a sprinkle of PD if you have some!!!! I'll take any suggestions for interviews as well.

I'm surprised the sub job is for the whole year. You're very lucky. I think it's a union rule that if you teach so many days in one year, the district has to hire you permanently. The districts who have this restriction get around the requirement by only having subs teach one semester. Our friend did a teacher exchange to Japan. She had two different 2nd grade subs for the year she was gone.

Break a leg! I have been moved up to fourth grade for next year and am really looking forward to it! The kids are so wonderful at that age!

Oh my word.....thank you all SO much for the well wishes!!!

My goal this summer was to get on the sublist for the school district I live in ( I did) and to get just one interview in a nearby district!!!!!!

I plan on "trying" to go into this interview and simply be myself. I am just pleased as punch to get an interview in the area, especially since I have no plans to relocate having two children in middle school, a house, and DH's job.
