It sounds fishy to me because unclaimed funds are escheated to the state generally within 10 years and lately I have seen them escheating within 5 years. This is a long time for them to be looking for him & they are just getting to him under the wire? If they kne the aunt was deceased, why does he need to submit a COPY of the death certificate? And what info are they looking for? In today's age of stolen identities, I would really take the extra step to check this all out before giving out personal information.
