Feel free to add this to original ebay post -- I tried to find it to no avail :(...

After my monkey told me that someone told her that they just bought green flips, we went looking in all the vmk shops -- uh uh, nope...not for sale...duh. So I thought I would take a look to see if they were bought on ebay...omg -- I nearly fainted!
Green flips on ebay

Wow I could take my green flips and get a grand in real money!? That is crazy I would never do it because I do not want to get banned. Why would you pay that much money for something virtual?

Yes this exact auction was posted a few weeks ago and the thread was locked I think. Not sure but I'm sure the mods can clarify, I think they wanted to kind of nip the ebay posts in the bud once and for all. Of ocurse I am getting older by the minute and might not remember right, but I do know the auction was posted when it ended. Crazy.

Do they really? Nip away then!! :lmao:

mal is going to close this post, as she did to my ebay post. Too much trouble everyone

I do not understand what is so bad about this thread. All it is doing is showing how silly people are for paying real money for something virtual.
If other threads like this got closed, it does not make sense.

One thread I am suprised that it did not get closed is the myspace thread. That site is known to have predetors on it.

I actually think that the threads ar big closed due to the arguments that start regarding them. Some think it is ok to sell on Ebay and some do not. Heated arguments start and then the thread goes down hill fast. I may be wrong but I know in the past some arguments did happen in the Ebay threads.

As far as thre myspace thread goes I have to agree. Now that the poster has confirmed his age as being 10, it should be the end of the discussion. That is far too young to be playing aroound on myspace....but thats an argument for another thread..... LOL!

I definatley agree with you.

I believe I started that thread, it was called 'VMK sold it's mind on E-bay' but I believed it closed.

i do remember that thread. I do not remember any flaming on that thread though..

OMG I just noticed the winning bid -US $1,025.00!

I wonder how much green bag pants, stitch hat or inferno could get you on ebay?

Wouldn't if be funny if the person who won that auction found his account suspended for trading something like this against the rules? :)

Spend more than a thousand bucks, and end up being banned for ten years!!

Yes that would not be fun. That is why I would never do it!

I just can not believe someone would actually pay over 1 thousand dollars for a virtual item. It would serve him right if the flips would be re-released. :lmao:

Green flips will never be released.

On the other hand, he could be banned.

OMG 1,000 dollars for something like that? Some ppl must be cooko in the head.

Wow i'm not that crazy

Carrieberry is exactly correct about what has happened in other threads discussing Ebay. Heated debates seem to spring to life at the mention of this topic as there are many with strong feelings both for and against selling VMK items.

We can try this again and see if the thread can stay on topic of the OP's intent of - Wow look at this! - and not an argument of right or wrong. Ultimately, it is up to Disney to make that decision. ;)
