My children will not survive until April vacation. If they survive through vacation it will be a miracle!

DS13's iPod died. You would think the world has ended, a most painful death. Apparently without music, life is not worth living.

DS9 has decided that DS13 is now his personal punching bag. Then wonders why DS13 hates him.

DS8, well...... I medicated him because even I couldn't take it anymore. How bad is it when the most abnormal one in the bunch is the most normal?!?! Yes I hated to medicate him, yes I feel like I failed because I bent to the will of the school. No they do not know he's medicated, they think he has a lung infection because he said his meds might make him jittery. LOL Let them believe it!

DD4 has decided she can go outside whenever she feels the need. With.out.telling.any.one.
And has decided to change clothes 4 times a day
And has decided to paint........ everything. Including said clothes and my furniture. One guess as to what color?!?!?

I have been pretty sick all week. So bad that I missed a hugely important meeting at school with the 8th grade (so not like me), I slept, well tried to sleep from 5 to 10 Wed night. DS13 had to cook dinner, with Ma's supervision.
Today was the first day I took in the scope of the Cat 4 tornado that ripped through my house. Exactly how much mess can 4 little kids make in 3 days????

I think with the boys that is it. They do it way more if Tom isn't around. We have had days that it's spring fever for sure. Weekends I really try to let them be them and not gie them tons of chores just kick them out the door and say I'll see you at 12 for lunch. Also here the teachers really pile on the homework at this time of the year.

What can I do to help? The only advice I can offer is to stand firm and tough. Kids need to know there are consequences to their actions. Linda's right, take no guff! Put that child labor into motion and have the kids clean do stuff around the house.

I would have sent them your way but we are up to our eyeballs in Science Fair projects.
Did I tell you how much I hate science fair??? Honestly if it weren't or the fact that DS13 is not doing so hot in science, I'd have let them take the hit and not do them.

Such a waste of time, money, and natural resources.

We have our ideas in mind..DS13 did a lot of researching and idea getting yesterday but he says it isn't something that interests him...

How fancy do the experiements have to be- one of my favorites was using celery and seeing how stems worked- you can do it with carnations as well- just leave it in food colored water for a short period and you see it change to the color- to make it a bit more advanced- cut the bottom so it can soak in 2 different colors and see how they mix at the top- I think it colors within 24 hours.

DS13 did a CD hovercraft and DS9 did ooze made from water and cornstarch.

Don't really care if they get an F or an A. The teacher knew I was not willing to do one or spend $$$. Last year DS13's fair project cost over $70, and kids touched it and it broke. I'm not doing that again.

Rebecca that one actually sounds fun. I might save that for DS8 for next year.

Today was a good day until my mom shows up at school (teacher luncheon) with DD. Dad sliced his hand open with a table saw so she took him to the ER and brought DD to me. Then the librarian/hostess of the luncheon/book preview went down. She's not feeling well and ended up in the nurses office. I think I'm going to end up running book fair this week. Not what I wanted to do!!!!!

Next week is April vacation so I'm really looking forward to that. Sleeping in, pancakes for dinner. etc.....

After book fair I am off the hook until the class trip, but that's already planned. I just need to show up.
And the Graduation dance and ceremony.

Then I'm off for the summer!!!

I'm considering dropping PTO except for Book fair (I think we are going to lose the librarian to budget cuts). PTO will take that over. I can handle Book Fair 2 times a year if I don't do anything else.
gotta start living by my rules. Think about ME again!
