OMG just forced my 13 year old son into the shower

My son showers two times a day, sometimes three. Be glad that you aren't dealing with 30 minute bathroom breaks followed by showers if you get my drift lol. Puberty and/or meeting his girlfriend changed his hygiene ways.

Thank you - I was looking for a more delicate way to express my thoughts. Yes, at 13 our issues with our boys were too many "showers" (quotes used deliberately).

The funny thing is, I have always understood this more than my DH. He'd ask me "why is that kid taking a shower again?" and I'd just say "really???"

Last night DS and I were watching a movie - he smelled so bad I could smell him from across the room. I paused the movie and refused to watch anymore until he went and showered... and he did! Couldn't believe it...course this morning I realized that he didn't have any soap in his shower so I don't know what he washed with except water :confused3

Reading all these posts of the extra long showers reminds me of my co-worker who kept complaining that all her lotion was disappearing and she couldn't figure out what her DS was doing with it. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: We told her to invest in the Jergens Natural Glow and put it in the regular bottle.

Aaaaghhhh AAAAAGHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!

(that is me running away from the computer, screaming and laughing)

That's what worked for us. DS24 didn't know the difference between shampoo and conditioner for a long time. I bought him some Axe body wash and he was in hog heaven. 'Course, the rest of us paid the price--you could smell him from around the block!~ But at least it wasn't goat-boy funk.

We too bought him some Axe shampoo and some body wash and he loves it. I think it smells really good too. We finally got rid of the "goat boy funk".

Now, it is on to the teeth brushing. That is still a struggle. :headache:

There is new stuff out for men called:

Dove for MEN

Maybe this will smell less than the Axe?

Haha, I just saw this thread and it made me ROFLOL!

DF is way older, but I still on time to time have to suggest a shower. He seriously cannot smell his own B.O. That's ok, thats why he has me!

But OP, no need to be surprised! Its just a boy thing.

Thanks to this thread I spent some quality time in the men's personal care aisle at Walmart. Texted my DS who is a junior in college...what Axe flavor should I buy? (I thought they smelled too strong in general) His answer: Irish Spring. :confused3 I bought it...let's see if he'll use it.

By the way, if any of you get a chance to see the little tv monitor ads they have in Walmart for Old Spice body wash...they're so funny!! I was standing there laughing. They run a few different ones on the video loop.
