I just realized I will be there for the convention!!!! I am soooooo excited and don't know what to do!!! O.K. You guys have to help me out....since this is a convention I am sure there are cetain perks for going...please help me plan my vacation... I thought I was a really good vacation planner until I discovered these boards. Any and all information will be helpful, especially where to stay and how to get convention hopper passes!!! Thanx in advanced! I can't believe how excited I am now!!!!

First of all. we have not posted the sign ups yet for Dis Con 2002....Previous convention, there were events only tickets that you purchased or events with hotel tickets... you have to purchase admission tickets separately if you do not have AP's. Please stay tuned and I am sure Pete will be posting the sign ups soon for DisCon 2002.

I am soooo excited that I can't contain myself. I thought it was going to be a long depressing year since we had to cancel our Jan 11th trip...but considering the boss is paying for the December trip and now with DISCON, how can I possible be sad!! I am getting do excited!!!!! Looking forward to all the great info on DISCON but will hate to have to comepete with you veterns for ressies!!! LOL!!! Looking forward to meeting you all!

I think they realize after all our rave reviews about how wonderful it was that it will be a very popular event for next year... Now I am more confused than ever!!! I have inquired about renting DVC points and and staying at BWV....that seems to be the econimic way to go....but she did make us cancel our vacation....and I am really thinking should I jsut stay where I really want to stay? Then I read on the DIS CON board that rooms at Yact Club are 195 a night for the convention.....what to do? I am a snorer and we definately need need two rooms or a junior suite...Althought DH's boss is footing the bill I am having a hard time accepting the gift if you know what I mean. None the less I intend on having an absolutely wonderful time and looking forward to meeting everybody!! I am in Crown Point by the way, we are almost neighbors!!!!

Welcome Liz and Greg! If I had a boss that offered to pay for my vacation, I'd certainly take him/her up on it. I probably wouldn't stay at the Grand Floridian, but I'd make sure it was a Disney resort....maybe the Animal Kingdom Lodge. But since the convention will probably be held at the Yacht Club again, I'd want to stay close by in an Epcot resort.

I agree with Steve, make it as easy on yourself as you can.. less traveling to events if you are staying onsite and in the host resort.. JMHO...and especially if you are not paying. LOLOL

Welcome, Liz! Is there any way you can stay at WDW until Dec. 8th - the last day of the convention? Last year the events-only package was a fixed price for everything, and many people who could'nt be there for the entire convention chose not to purchase the pkg.

I was told today that I can't take my vacation the first week of December and would have to take it by mid November......so you know what that means....can I cry now? So here is the plan if I can pull it off...I have my vacation planned for Nov. 2 - 9... and am going to try to make a short trip leaving on the evening of the 5th and staying until Sunday if I can work this out financially as I really do not want to miss this!! We will have to see how it all works out!!! Hope for the best!
