I am so mad:mad: I picked Jet Blue for non stop flights and the best leaving/arriving times. We've never flown them and were so excited to have tv's and try something new (always fly southwest), anyway they left a message and changed our flight times big time....Instead of leaving at 8 am they have us at 6pm, totally ruining our whole night. On the way back we had 11 am, now 9pm plus we have a 3 hour ride from the airport. These times are not acceptable. What happens now..am I stuck.. can I get my money back and fly southwest???? I just can't believe this :headache:

Look online to see what flights are available and call JetBlue. I would bet that they put you on the flights that you want at no additional charge.
What are your travel dates?

:scared1: What? You mean an airline other than Airtran actually changes flights?

It's Late July into August, but there are no other non stop flights. I don't think it's fair. I paid for non stop flights. We are a family of 5 and this is a Disneyland trip so we are flying from Boston to Long Beach. It's a 6+ hour flight already. We always book nonstop flights only because we hate the stress of changing planes with the kids and worrying about or luggage etc, but these non stop flights are awful. The return flight would have us arriving back at Boston at 9 am the next day. I would never choose these flights, never have paid $400 each either. I just can't believe this is happening.

That is considered a major change (over 2 hours) so they will give you a refund. Check what the other options are (Southwest?) and if you find something better, ask Jet Blue for a refund.

I would check with other airlines first to make sure there are some flights and prices that you are interested in. If you find something you like then I'd call JetBlue to ask for a refund considering it is such a big time difference that you are not happy with.

Just to clarify, you didn't pay for non-stop flights according to the contract of carriage, you paid for a flight on the same day as you originally purchased to transport you between cities. You didn't purchase specific seats (although you may have selected your seats), you didn't purchase a guaranteed aircraft or flight time.

I understand your frustration, but you as a consumer also have to understand the purchase agreement (and associated contract of carriage) you made when you bought your tickets. The good news as previously mentioned is JetBlue is very reasonable to work with and will most likely either refund your money or offer you a different flight (although they are not required to).

Those are awful flights they stuck you with! I've had some minor adjustments to flights before, but never that kind of mess. I'd check your terms, but if they don't have anything that would be more to your liking, I'd throw a fit until they gave you a refund.

Yes because that's how you'll get your way...:sad2:...JetBlue is usually great to work with, but again they are under no obligation to change anything, although they most likely will.

::yes:: While JetBlue's website may not have indicated so at the time the OP made the purchase (she doesn't say when that was done), they now DO state on the 'choose your seat' page that they don't guarantee you'll get those seats.

::yes:: again :). OP - could you possibly leave the night before? JetBlue may well allow you to change to that 6 PM flight the day before your intended departure at no cost. Sure, it will still get you to Long Beach late in the evening (sort of - remember, with the time change, it'll really only be 9 PM there when you land, and yes, I realize your body clocks won't agree), giving you an ENTIRE extra day at your destination.

Really? I'd deal with the entire situation in a mature, adult manner. The Customer Service Rep with whom I'd be speaking - and subsquent supervisors or managers, if that person couldn't (not wouldn't, but was restricted by policy or even simple IT or schedule* issues) help me - DIDN'T make the change. JetBlue didn't make the change to inconvenience me.

Throwing a fit won't get me anywhere. Remaining calm and determining my options, will.

To the original poster. If you decide to get a refund check out Virgin America. They fly out of Boston and a friend just flew out west with his mom and said it was the best planes/flights he has ever been on. Larger seats and entertainment on the seat back... cafe style food to order from your seat!

Weirdly.. this just happened to me too.. but in a completely different Jet Blue way..

Specifically..

My departure flight was 6:33 pm and now it's 6:54pm.. same day.. Arrival also moves back by 20 minutes but the flight is still direct. Seemed odd to me. But not a big inconvenience to me.

Do not check "acknowledge" on the website and do not press whatever number to accept on the phone call.. but ask to speak to a CS rep (there's a button for that on the phone call) .. and the phone number is listed when you 'Manage my Flights' at the J/B website.

You have options. You'll have to call J/B to ask what they are.

Please let us know what happens. I have also booked with Jetblue but never flown before. I'm curious about what they will do for you in this case.

OP, Sorry this happened to you. I'm a big Jetblue fan and guess I've been lucky. I agree, you need to check out OTHER flights and prices before you call Jetblue so you know your options (flight times and prices). I've always found the JB agents to be extremely helpful, so no need for a "fit". Please post back. Tks.

I am glad I had to wait till morning to call, I was much calmer and decided to find out my options without having a fit (which is what I really wanted to do). They were actually very nice, apologized, said this was very unusual and agreed that the new flights they gave us were completely different than what we booked. They said we can cancel and get our money back (not a credit, a refund) or change to any other flight (no extra charges if it's more) on that day, even a different airport. My options now are to stick with Jet Blue or cancel and go with Southwest. Southwest would be $200 more total and the flights are not that great or stick with Jet Blue (either switch to a connecting flight flying into Long Beach or switch to LAX for a non stop flight). We just feel different towards Jet Blue now. This has made us feel uneasy. I am scared they will change the new flights too, maybe then it might be too late to switch to Southwest, BUT I think the Jet Blue flights are better and really wanted those Tv's on such a long flight with 3 kids. :confused3 I don't know. Who loves Jet Blue...Was this just a fluke thing????

Were the original flights cancelled? It's common for airlines to restructure their routes and times depending on bookings throughout the year.

Maybe for Jet Blue it was a fluke, but most major airlines do change flights, to some extent. It makes good business sense to only fly full planes, so they all condense as my flights as possible.

I know it is a bummer, but I have come to understand that when I book a flight, that the times may change. It is not wise to become too attached to departure times, or to having a non-stop flight.
