I didn't say there weren't women pirates, I said that women weren't supposed to be pirates. Just like women weren't supposed to fight in the American Civil War. In both cases, women typically had to disguise themselves as men so they probably didn't include big shoes in their wardrobe.

I just remembered the movie, "Yellowbeard." That is a great (if you like inane movies) pirate movie. "Stagger left, stagger right, crawl, crawl, crawl."
