Not in a million years did I ever forsee this one....my DH got me an IPhone for Christmas! You will think I'm nuts, but I nearly got sick at my stomach (in a good way) because I was totally speechless. I've been talking about one for a couple years but he and I have talked about it and how nuts it is that you have such a high monthly fee after you get it. He already had it activated and contracts signed. We both have tracfones and have had them for years. I'm have a bit of a "techie" addiction and this is sooooooo AWESOME!!! I have an ITouch that he got me a couple years ago but this is over the top!

Now then...when I set it up, I told it to "restore backup with my iPod touch" rather than set up a new IPhone. I wonder if I made a mistake. I did that so that all of my music would go onto it. Now I'm worried about it connecting to the internet when I leave my home. It asked me for my router password when I tried to connect to the internet. Does that happen when I leave my home. I thought with an IPhone, it automatically connected? If anyone can help...I'd certainly appreciate it!!!!

I too can't get past the monthly contract. I have tmobile prepaid phone for a few bucks/year. I use my iTouch alot, and the phone would be nice...but I just can't get myself to spend the $ for the contract.

Congrats!

Santa brought me an i-phone, too. I'm still working on answering it when it rings :lmao: When I first turned it on, it connected immediately to the internet, now it only wants to connect to our wireless in the house. I guess I'm heading to the ATT store tomorrow for a little guidance.:goodvibes Congrats to you!!!

Now that I can get an upgrade, I go on ATT to get one--refurbished, cause it's only $49--and they are temporarily sold out. So now I have to wait--again.

Congratulations on your new phones!

You can turn off the WiFi when you do not want to use it. I keep mine on all the time.

It should connect to the 3G network if available before it connects to the wifi.

Go to settings then WiFi and you can adjust it from there.

It should not keep asking for your router password, it should be stored. But if you have the wifi on it may pop up for other WiFi networks available.

OP

you can plug your phone into your computer then go to phone in itunes then summary under version you can restore to factory settings and start over. Then add your music from itunes.
