OMG! I am OBSESSED with DisBoards! Ahh - Support Group needed...

:thumbsup2 good evening fellow addicts - i have been away but am back now! Hope all is well in the land of The Dis!! I missed everyone!!!!

Nice to see you Grendalynn!

Right now I am in 100% Disney mode-more specifically POTC mode. Is anyone else out there as hyped for this movie as I am? Already bought our tickets for the 24th and we have watched POTC 1 & 2 on DVD to prep. Tonight I uploaded 1 & 2's soundtracks to my ipod. I need a fix! Maybe this is how the trekkies and Star Wars fans feel? :rotfl2: DH thinks I have lost it...I just keep telling him I am only trying to support my stock! Not sure he buys it, but it sounds good, doesn't it?

I'm also wildly anticipating the release of the Food & Wine Festival events schedule...but I think that won't be for a while yet. Can't wait to book some of those goodies for our October trip. :cheer2:

My 11 yr old son told me he doesn't want to wear his Disney t-shirts anymore. He said he is being teased as a walking disney ad. :( So now I have a drawerful of really nice t-shirts he refuses to wear and I have to go buy him some plain ones because all we have is disney!

(Well, we do have a legoland one too...is that allowed to be told on this board!)

I feel betrayed.

He also told me he isn't going to tell his friends anymore when we go on our disney vacations. He feels embarrassed.

Anyone encounter anything like this?

My DS is 15...but he sort of nixed the Disney attire a few years ago too-basically when he started middle school. I can understand, kids are cruel and I don't need him getting teased or targeted because of what he wears. He does still wear Disney stuff on the weekends or after school-he doesn't care then. I'm not sure if he advertises his trips anymore...I don't think so. I don't really worry-as long as he still wants to GO to Disney with us, I'm fine with it.

DD is the opposite...she is 13 and very brazen. She wears her Disney attire proudly and doesn't care what anyone else thinks...she will give them a piece of her mind if they dare say a word to her about it. If she stopped wearing her Dis attire tomorrow, I'd be a little sad, but I'd understand.

Now when we are in Disney itself...I dress the whole family like dorks...we all match...and the kids don't care! :rotfl: DN is too young (2) to object and husband says that as long as it is clothing, its fine by him!

Thanks!

It never occurred to me that disney would stop being "cool". My son also says that he has the reputation for the being the richest person in the class because we are always going on vacation. I told him that we are probably the poorest family in the class because we are always going on vacation!

Sigh...I think the kids are all jealous, but I don't want him to be teased. I guess Mickey Mouse on a t-shirt stops being cool when you are in middle school. (Middle school here is grade 6-8).

I will chat with him about it afterschool today.

Thanks for the ear.

I agree! Our addiction really tightens the purse strings sometimes...but we love it. :rotfl:

I'm sure any one of those kids would jump at the chance to go to Disney-so they probably are jealous! DS told me that Mickey and crew and considered babyish-guess cartoons are not cool? I don't know. :confused3

ds14 will wear disney shirts, but he preapproves them... he likes a lot of the disney store ones- like the old fashioned comic style mickey and donald, and big bad wolf... they have to be somewhat'artsy' and 'cool' looking- he won't wear a buzz or stitch shirt anymore....but I will!:lmao:

I've already decided that I won't buy any more Disney ti-shirts unless he requests them.

I asked the middle son and he said he was still okay with Disney t-shirts. (He is 8!)

Sigh. I don't want them to grow up!

I wish I could have frozen mine in the age 6-8 range! When they were in diapers I wanted them to grow up a little quicker...now I'd like to shrink them back a few years.

Having kids sure helps to justify the addiction. My youngest is 5 and I find it unbearable that he is on the brink of losing his "babyishness".

Omg! Truly Disney obsessed -- and DIS obsessed too. I've been on these boards for years now and still love it.

My kids are 8 and 12 -- girls. The older one will wear some "cool" Disney shirts. She has one with the silouhette of Mickey -- I think I got it at Target actually. And she has a Tinkerbell one she wears a bunch.

My younger one is in her -- I'm not a girly girl don't buy me pink stuff phase. She told me that she doesn't want me to buy her a lot of princess stuff anymore. But today she is wearing a light blue Tinkerbell shirt. And she keeps her stuffed Stitch in her bed each night.

The only Disney shirts DS15 will wear is the movie ones-like POTC-cause that is "cool". :cutie:

My DD13 is going through the "no girly stuff" phase too, but she will still wear Disney stuff-just not anything pink or princessy. Mind you, she has a Stitch fixation too and sleeps with dolls still :upsidedow

Hello Hello

life seems to be crazier than ever - Work, coaching softball, house, family, DS's baseball, baby boy who is teething and attempting to crawl, challenging DS4, DH who seems to be working late a lot these days ((...always a crisis somewhere or there is something wrong with his business or in life that he feels won't go on with out him unless he solves the problem ASAP - :sad2: but that's a story for another day...)), Laundry, PTO, Family stuff, Yard work, did I mention work?? :rotfl2: Anyway, i have little free time these days, but TheDis is ALWAYS on my mind and i just can't get enough!!! I feel out of the loop when I don't get my daily fix!! I guess I am showing all signs of an addict, for sure!! :scared1:

I am ashamed to admit though, that my obsession has shifted fro the time being from planning our next Disney Vacation to looking into and the feasibility of buying land and building a new house!!?? i guess if there is anything to pull me away, that can be it!! :confused3

But as I have said before, if I am to be addicted to anything, I am glad that its The DIS ((and TJMaxx of course!)).... Hope everyone is well!!:wizard:

Goooooooooooooood Morning Disney Fans!! Just checking in to see whats new on The Dis! Slow morning at the office, so I thought I would sneak in for a few! :surfweb:

I guess a first post has to happen sometime, right?

I'm Christie and I'm an addict. I admit it. Not necessarily to the Dis boards (yet) but to WDW.

All I can say is I am so glad I am not alone!

This morning I walked into my powder room and thought "hmmm, it smells like Yacht and Beach pool bathroom!" What the heck? LOL...:rotfl2:
