Let me just give people who voted no for simpathy a lesson.

There is a little thing called "The Bambi effect" (No, seriously! It is 100% true. Just search Wikipedia for more) in which protestors are simpathetic for things which are not nice. For example, people in the UK wanted Fox Hunting to be banned under the illusion that Foxes are cute and cuddly, while in fact they kill chickens! I have pet chickens so I am naturally pro-fox hunting

I voted cute in this debate not for the reasons I stated above. It's just an item for VMK and since computers are a Man-Made product the bear is a man-made product. Therefore we didn't have to kill the bear to get the item. Not cruel!

If you are going to argue boot, can we please use another reason other than "it's cruel".

Also, Cat Herder's right though! It's a stupid event! Not a real debate about it. Anyone, around 89% of people on the Dis voted cute anyway, so no real contest.

Have you guys seen Hercules the disney movie? If you have there is a funny scene where Hercules holds up the pelt (skin) of a lion and draps it around his shoulders. The pelt was scar from the lion king! I thought this was hilarious. I voted yes for the bear rug. I am going to look at it as the mean old bear from Fox and the Hound.

In just about every Disney cartoon the main charachter is an orphan.

Who remembers crying when Bambi lost his mom, or when Simba lost his dad?

People can have their own opinions. Their are people saying, boot people should change their votes. Why? It is their opinion. Why should people change their own opinion, just because some people aren't happy with it. It is just a game. I, personally, voted boot, but if people want to vote cute, then thats great! They have their own opinion. And I bet alot of the cute votes, are because thats what most people are voting. They don't even want to think about what their opinion is. These are just peoples opinions. Let's please, just remember that. But, I do enjoy reading these debate threads, I also have one of my own. But it's just opinions. Let's just please not forget that. Totally you can have and keep your opinion! It makes you, you! We just want to make sure you know both sides of the argument. I initially voted cute but a couple times came across some good BOOT points. But in the end I found that the BOOT people are tying in real life and a virtual game. In my opinion that does not seem the issue that VMK wants us to solve. VMK wants to know if more people want it for sale or not. Here's what the home page says about the event:

Should the Bear Rug have a permanent home in VMK, or should it disappear, never to be seen again? You tell us.

That is what we are voting. We are not voting on animal rights. We are not voting on whether bears should be killed in real life. We are voting on whether we want this virtual rug to become available for us all to have the CHOICE to buy.
