OMG ebay and connections vouchers!

someone is actually selling the link to the connections website to get discount meal vouchers for disney and people are actually bidding. too sad. Go under disney meal vouchers and check it out.

I may be over-reacting, but for the reason you just mentioned is why I don't EBAY. It's amazing what people will sell and more amazing what someone will bid on!

that is just too sad. I can't believe someone would buy them. It is funny i research everything before i buy them. I would look up a message board and ask questions and hey i would get my answer here. So many helpful people here. so they pay for the information and then they pay to join. LOL

People have tried that in the past and IF reported EBay will close the listings, you ARE NOT allowed to sell links. Too bad I don't know how to report it or I would. That is what gives EBay a bad name. Does anyone know how to report????????

You can report it here..go to the right..under items that may not be allowed for sale.
It certainly wouldn't stop me from buying on eBay, that some people sell stuff that they shouldn't. It's too bad, but you really have to read carefully and take responsibiltiy for what you are bidding on, and ask the seller questions, if you aren't sure of what they are selling. Not everyone knows how to research on the computer, and I guess they think this is worth it. We can't email and tell these people where to get the info for free, because it's auction interference, and eBay would suspend us : (
I'm always amazed at what peopleare willign to bid on...but seeing private feedback, tells me that this person is not getting good reactions from their bidders...or they may also sell adult items and not want people to know who bid.

what amazes me is that these people actually list on their auctions that the buyer can get these vouchers for a $1.00 by getting a 30 day trial for the link seller is selling and then they can cancel after buying as many vouchers as they want at the end of30 days without any problems and stating that people have successfully done so. AND that they have nothing to lose because if they are not satisfied then the SELLER will BUY BACK THE VOUCHERS.

So, in other words, seller wants the buyer to go thru the problems of joinining connections and cancelling and the seller will buy back the vouchers from the buyer if not satisfied.

These sellers must be desperate.

So Sellers get:
Money for selling the link to connections and they can get vouchers if buyer is unsatisfied. This is so terrible!!

and buyers get:

That's strange. Did you put a comma inbetween the numbers? You're an eBay member, right? Are you on AOL, and timing out?(wish AOL let us decide how long we want to wait for a page to come up).

Interesting that the guy offers to buy back the vouchers. Win, win for him.

I noticed that they seldom have the lunch (29) vouchers on sale. I've been looking for a couple, and they haven't been up. I wonder if they are harder ot sell, because most people wouldn't pay $30 for lunch. Only seems to be the Q & C that are poplular on eBay.

The instructions said to put a space between the numbers, up to ten item numbers.
I use MS IE for browsing, and have never had a problem before... oh well......

You're right..it is spaces..opps..it used to be a comma and a space!
I can get to the screen via cable, but not via AOL, so I suspect they are having a technical problem.

That's auction interference, also against the eBay rules. If we break the rules, we would be no different from them.

I make a good part time living from eBay, and wouldn't want to be suspended. It's best to leave the decision of what to do with these people to eBay. That's why they give you the ability to report them (when eBay isn't having technical problems)

I saw that the other day. I was wondering though, how to find the vouchers. Can anyone tell me? I could check the ebay site every once in a while and send messages to the poor people bidding on this info. Letting them know for free.Thanks!

It is against e-bay's rules to send messages to bidders on auctions. If people don't have the time or just don't want to check things out and do their research, then the people selling on e-bay have every right to sell whatever they want. I have sold vouchers on e-bay, mostly to international buyers who can't join Connections. I always put in my auctions that the vouchers will not be a good deal everywhere and that it their responsibility to seek out this info. If they bid, great, if not great. It's no different, in my opinion, than buying anything else for resale. Almost anything you can find on e-bay you can probably find cheaper elsewhere if look long and hard enough. So, please don't try to hurt the people out there trying to make a little extra money to support their families by telling bidders where they can get something cheaper. They can come here and find out if they want. Besides, as I said, it's against e-bay's rules.

As of now, eBay hides the email addresses to all but the seller and buyers. They do this to stop auction interference, which this would be : (

I'm often surprised at what I sell some stuff for on eBay..I would be very upset if someone wrote and told them where they could get it cheaper. Better to just let the buyers and sellers work this stuff out.

mnlmom and DMRick, I agree with you both. And I wouldn't want to undermine someone trying to sell something. What I don't like about this one item is the person is actually charging people just to tell them the name of the website. It's not like the seller is going to actually send something physical (like vouchers) to the buyers. Just charging them to tell them the name of something. Make sense?

When I first saw that people were actually auctioning the link to Connections, I was furious. When I told my husband, he said that if they could do it and it was legal, why not. Now, with this thread, I actually went onto ebay to find out if it was "legal". Ebay does state that you cannot auction a link to a website. So, I reported all those that I found were selling the link to Connections. Don't know if anything will happen, but at least it made me feel like I was doing my civic duty.
