So a friend of mine and I coordinated to release a BOG Quick service reservation. I canceled mine and she immediately went in and searched for the same day, same time that I had just canceled. (And I mean at the same mouse click.)

When she tried to do it, it was unavailable...refresh, refresh, refresh still unavailable. And I got a cancellation confirmation for mine.

Anybody experience this with QS reservations as BOG? Is it any different than table service?

Could a BOT have taken the reservation?

Its possible that someone could of grabbed up that reservation at the exact same time, but its also possibly that the system takes a little bit of time to update on their end. Maybe have your friend keep trying and if she still hasn't gotten it then I would assume someone else jumped right in there and snatched it up :(

Unfortunately, giving reservations this way isn't always a guarantee because you can have so many people online searching at the same time. IME they usually do pop up right away and aren't held or anything so it's likely someone else just got it quicker. I did once have a problem though where I was trying to book and it wouldn't go all the way through but the same time popped up 2 hours later and same issue happened again and then again 2 hours later it popped up and I finally got it to work. It seemed like it held onto it for whatever reason and I was thankful because I did get it in the end.

I have done a successful drop and pick up with a BOG ADR. We used the same date/time website to get fully synchronized. As I dropped, she kept hitting refresh and was immediately able to snag my dropped ADR for BOG. I have also dropped ADRs and checked immediately after and most times, the ADR appears immediately. I have had a couple of times with really hard to get things or times that my prime time is gone after a second refresh and is replaced by a lesser time (or even gone altogether). So, it can happen lightning fast that things get snapped up.

I've also coordinated to grab someone's cancelled ADR and had no issues picking it up- certainly no hour-long delay. I had been searching for months with no luck, so I have to assume it was that person's that I got.

There used to be 3rd party websites that charged a fee for doing what you're describing, and Disney put a stop to it. That might be related to your difficulty doing it.

However, it could also just be due to intense demand. I have been in the midst of the reservation process before (& not wasting time), only to be told that the ressie is no longer available.

This happened to me and a friend last year, but for Garden Grill. We were in the same room together, on our own MDE accounts. I had picked up a Garden Grill ADR for her family, and planned on coordinating with her, so she could pick it up. I cancelled it, and she was on literally seconds later to get it and it never showed up for her. I was so mad lol. We never did get it back after trying. So she had to settle for another restaurant that wasn't as popular instead. I felt so bad, but I guess someone got it to right away. Not surprised that it happened with BOG, as it is one of the most coveted restaurants.

I had a situation where I was dropping a reservation for 6 and she was searching for 2. I kept watching, watching. I ended up grabbing the reservation back twice before she ever got it. I don't know why it wouldn't allow her to search for just2, but it wouldn't

It may be because of table sizes - if they had allocated a table for 6, and it freed up, they want to give it away to 6 people - not put 2 people at that table.

We have to make reservations for QS now too? My last trip (2013) was also my first trip. We could just walk up for QS, no ressie required.
Planning trip 2 now, what do I need to get caught up on as far as ADR's?

Only for BOG. Breakfast and lunch are QS. Dinner is TS. All three need ADRs, probably because it's so dang popular.

Oh Phew! I was about to scrap the whole dang trip. I'm already frustrated that we have to make ride reservations 60 days out.. Not knowing if my kids will even like a particular ride or not.... Last time only 1 was even remotely interested in Splash Mtn, and no one went for Space Mtn..

Trying to make ADR's is frustrating, I'm only planning 2, if I'd have had to do QS as well... I would've headed for the cruise line instead. Lol

I understand your frustration with the new fastpass system. When they first launched it I was horrified and really resented having to make ride decisions that far in advance, but I've since changed my mind. After using it 2 trips so far, I appreciate not having to run all over the park to get a fp, plus it's very easy to rearrange your plans once you're there.

I'm hoping. But for the layperson that doesn't visit frequently, planning your day from start to finish like this is ridiculous when you don't know the lay of the land, etc. what I don't want is to be like, "Ok kids, we have a FP reservation in 10 min for Tomorrowland, let's go.." And they're so enthralled with what they're doing in Fantasy land that they don't want to leave and we end up missing our time (yes, even with a 60 min window). I don't want their experiences to be ruined because of scheduling. I want them the remember the experience, and not tents Natzi schedule Mom planned for the trip... Lol

Disney doesn't always put cancelled ADRs back into the system, especially for an overbooked restaurant such as BOG.

FP should not be a burden. I have scapped Mine Train twice because my family was happy someplace else. Schedule the FP you think they will like, but if you ms the winds because your family was enjoying another sea, I figure no harm no foul.

Meals are a little harder becuase if you do TS you need to try to keep those time frames, but if you schedule a meal when you normally eat, and you are not trying to plan the "perfect" meal at some desired location that is nowhere near where your park is, you should be good.

Don't plan your day minute to minute. Look at the park maps and just work your way around. Ask if you think you will have a scheduling conflict with a FP time, but if you stay with each land, and don't crisscross the park to get to an attraction you will make good use of time.

Plan to get to the parks early, and remember that you cannot do it all.

Their system is so glitchy that I would keep checking. I would think it wouuld come up right away, but a few times I have cancelled things and then went back to check and they were gone. Then an hour later they were back. So if you really need the ADR, keep checking for at least an hour after cancellation.

I stopped doing the coordination thing. I just cancel and not coordinate too many variables.

I've personally seen cancelled reservations only appear after like 30 minutes. Most of the time it's instant though.
