I know you were all hoping that this said I got my bag returned to me, but alas that is not what is making me smile.
Gary NEVER comes home in middle of the day. He asks me to come join him for lunch somewhere, but if he comes home it, I have too many things for him that have to be done around here
Anyway today he DID come home. at 10:45 in the morning. He came in the bedroom wher my computer is and asked "Whacha doin?" I told him that a little at a time I was going through my pinpics and deselecting all the pins I used to have for trade. I was determined not to let it get me down. My pins are my theraphy and I just look at this as a relapse. I can continue with the right mental attitude.
He said "oh that's sad." I asked him what he was doing home this time of day. He said "I thought you might need something to cheer you up." He handed me two boxes, HEAVY BOXES. I knew I was expecting one from James and Linda. James sent me an email to keep an eye out for it.
The other package was from Michael and Judy Sue Tuchman. Between the two of them I now have almost 30 new pins. Thanks for the lanyard with pin. Have started collecting lanyards too. Just in denial about that one. Never thought of them as being very tradable. Guess I was wrong !!! Both sent beautiful lovely notes. Do you know they mean more to me than the pins do? The pins may get traded but I will cherish these notes. I thought when I left pinpics I would not be as big a part of the community any more, but you all have reached out and embraced me with a love that I so much wanted, needed and appreciated.
I want to take this time to acknowledge that Gregory a man I met from DL-CA, handed me a Pin Trader Pin from PARIS and said to me as he closed my hand around the pin, "I want to be one of the first, to help you start back on the road to trading with GOOD traders. This is just one I have with me now. Watch for more from your friends at DL. They will be trickling in." I met Gregory, through my very dear friend Tinkerbel129 Lori. Thank you so much for introducing me to him and his DL pinpals, Lori.
Then a wonderful, dear man and his wife Bill with PinPics (Pin Addict) came up to me while I was hugging Gregory and tears trickling down my face opeed up my other hand and place some pins in it. He closed my hand over them and I realized he was singing happy birthday to me. I have been admiring a 12 or 16 piece 2001 press set that Bill owns. When I looked at what he had placed in my hand I found I was now the owner of three of the press pins. "Play IT!", "Playhouse" and "Magic Carpets of Aladdin". Then a woman I don't even know. but she knows me, I do recognize her though. Well, anyway she handed me Carrollwood Pacific centennial caboose. Others at the meet came up one by one and handed me pins. It was suggested to me not to post this as it may sounda s if I was asking for others to follow suit. But others are following anyway, so lets make this tragedy trurn into what our hobby is REALLY about. Friends, family and fellowship.
This is going to make cleaning out Pinpics so much easier as I sit in my bed and type this with all my little trinkets of friendship surrounding me. James, or Diane ... Where in the world did you find such a beautiful card??? guys I just have to share this with you, I hope you two don't mind. It is a gold and white card with Tinkerbell in an elongated portrait style oval. Her hands are behind her back and she is tanding with her little ankles crossed as if in an ballet pose. the front of the card says All it takes is faith and trust and a little bit of Pixie Dust. Does that remind us old-timers of someone? James and Linda wrote the most heart-warming sentiment inside.
It will be so much more fun to post to this thread than that old negative sad one I started a week ago. Let's get everyone's spirits lifted again
