OMG....22 year DVC member, and I'm blanking on borrowing points!!!

I can't believe I can't figure this out....DH says one thing and I'm not sure he's right. Here's what's going on:

• Our use year is June.
• DD is getting married in Spring 2024, and we offered our points to them for their honeymoon in Aulani. It will use all our yearly points.
• My sister and BIL, and 4 nephews just decided they want to visit WDW in August of this year. This vacation will wipe out our points for 2023.

My question: I will book the August 2023 vacation using our June 2023 use year points (easy enough). For the honeymoon traveling in April/May 2024, I will have to borrow June 2024 points or can I borrow June 2025 points???

DH husband says we can borrow June 2025 points, but I think we're borrowing June 2024 points because travel falls before our use year rolls over.

It makes a difference which year because I would like to book a 2BR and studio for the trip this August, but I only have enough points for a 2BR. I do not want to shortchange DD for her honeymoon.

April/May 2024 Trip - uses June 24 UY Borrowed Points

How many points are you short? You could purchase up to 24 One Time Use Points but then those can only be used at the 7 month window or less.

Could they honeymoon in June 2024? Then you could borrow your June 25 UY points if needed as well.

I could ask about a June honeymoon. The wedding date is not set yet, so June might work.

Easiest way is to first determine the UY of the trip. Once that is known, the rest falls into place.

So, a spring 2024 trip is in your June 2023 UY, which means you can borrow 2024 UY points.
