I just don't get the hype on the big expensive strollers. I have the older version of this Chicco

It's been to WDW twice( soon thrice!), the mall, the zoo monthly, even the ball field...it was DS and now DD uses it...as soon as my babes held up their head this is what we used. and I paid $79 for it, DH thought I was crazy then.....but now I can show him the other strollers available...he may appreciate me more! :rotfl: It's very lightweight....and folds up fast...great for the bus. I can fit a medium sized bag in the basket unless the seat is fully reclined, mine came with a rain cover.

Why do people buy a BMW when a Kia will do the same job? We have a higher end stroller and it meets our unique needs(6'7" husband, can convert to a double when we have a foster kid in the house, has a bassinet for a makeshift bed when needed etc). We have pretty much worn out the tires in two years because we have so many miles on it but we can probably get a couple hundred if we ever wanted to sell it. I look at strollers like cars or shoes. What fits one person doesn't necessarily fit another.

Well you didn't mention how old the baby is but just based on what I have read from your post you can't go wrong w/ either a peg perego model or the baby jogger city mini. I agree with checking out albeebaby.com they have good prices and currently have a new model mini on sale right now for 179.99 you are limited on color choices but if you don't mind you are getting a great stroller for a great price. My dd is too big for my mini now but it is my ultimate disney/zoo/outing stroller.

We will be making our first family trip in a few days, so I can't comment specifically on ease of use in the parks, but we will be taking our UppaBaby G Luxe. I did a lot of research on the subject of buying a stroller that would be as functional as it was practical, and this guy won(according to me) by a landslide. We have used it several times at the mall shopping and other various places, and it has worked like a dream. I'll be able to post back how it worked in a few weeks. http://www.uppababy.com/products/product.php?id=171

The hype isn't about cost, the hype is about comfort & features, which usually come with a higher price tag. We went to a few stores and tried every stroller available and choose an expensive stroller (P3) because it was the most comfortable for our DD and it had features we were looking for which made it comfortable for us too. We also own a Blink, but in our opinion, that's for quick trips to the Mall, not a full day at Disney with a young baby.

Okay...just my thought...my mom has two grandbabies now (my kids)...we see her a lot. And she has my kids a lot as well. Let me give you a good piece of advice when it comes to grandma supplies for baby....

Garage Sale/consignment shop:thumbsup2

Honestly...as a grandmother, think how many times you actually are going to use/need your stroller with little one. I mean my mom has my kids at least once a week...she has a stroller. Perfectly clean, great condition, comfy, has a storage basket, cupholders, shade, etc...I think she paid 25 dollars for it at a garage sale.

I can understand sinking big bucks as a mom into a stroller (but no way 1000 dollars...holy cow!), but if its something you are going to use from time to time....you dont need anything too fancy. Just something to get the job done and is comfy. Is the stroller for your own use? Or are you buying the stroller as a gift for mommy for her to use?

We bought a Combi for our trip a couple years ago. It was 100. We had a 2 year old and a 3 month old. What I liked about this one was, easy to push, easy to fold, and it laid all the way back and made sorta a buggy for 3 month old. Go to the store and try them out. I went to toys r us, and tried several of them. I could not even figure out a few of them. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get them to fold down. They are nothing like what we used when our kids were little. We bought 2 of them. I do daycare, and they have been used a lot, and are still in beautiful shape.

wow. Strollers have increased dramatically since my teens were younger. Only the best will do for some children... I hope it has air conditioning too

Check out the Joovy Scooter... Lightweight, lots of storage, HUGE canopy!!!

And can even use the carseat in it, if needed. And I believe they are $100. I love some of the $$$ stollers, but don't think I'd ever take it to the world with me. Too much of a risk of being destroyed on the airplane or stolen (yes it does happen)!!!
