Hi Everyone!
Does anyone know anything about this camera? (good or bad) I have the chance to pick a gift from an employee recognition program. It's between the tg630 camera and a Pandora bracelet with 5 charms. I had been looking for a smaller camera that I could slip into a pocket or purse easily instead of the bigger supper zoom camera that I always use. I know most of the electronic items in these programs are older models and usually not worth getting, but I though I might take a chance since Olympus is a name brand.
Thanks in advance for any help!!

The 630 is this year's variant on the lower end of the TG series. I'd get it over the bracelet, myself :)

I was looking at the 830 series to supplement my DSLR, myself. I'd expect mediocre picture quality which is pretty standard in "tough" cameras. But, on the up side, it is going to be pocketable (unlike the mirrorless cameras or advanced P&S like the lumix k7)

I'd take the camera, too ;)

Olympus has a good reputation in the tough market so its a solid choice.

FWIW on your DSLr companion, the Olympus TG1, TG2 and Pentax WG3 have a fast f/2.0 lens which is fairly unique in the tough category. (And lower ISO really helps on a PnS.

I had an earlier variant of this camera. I used it for field work – documenting construction projects, bids, etc. For a while, it was my primary camera. I purchased due to the tough factor and the water resistance factor. One trip to the islands, I brought the cam with me and used it snorkeling. It also ran a few marathons with me.

The quality of photos were good. The camera did OK but lacked a little once the lighting got tough. It’s not a camera that you would use professionally, but it is a good choice to carry along in a purse or pocket and know that you will get a photo.
