Olympic Fever!!

God help me, we're less than a month away from me becoming a sobbing, shrieking, flag-waving recluse, glued to the television for 16 days straight! I LOVE the Olympics. L:OVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!

I can't wait for the games to begin. The past few weekends have been Olympic trials and selections on NBC and it's got me all jazzed up. Who's with me??

I went to the Atlanta Olympics (before the bombing) and saw the women's gymnastic team. What a thrill!!!!

For some reason I just have never gotten into the summer Olympics.

Now the winter Olympics, on the other hand, that's a whole different story!!

We have been watching the Olympic trials so we are getting pretty excited for the Olympics. DS15 was in China last year and saw most of the venues so he is excited to see them in use.

Im so excited! DD14 went to Omaha yesterday to watch the final qualifiying in swimming. She said it was amazing

Olympic swim trials have been amazing this year! New world records and American records set in many events. Brendan Hansen didn't qualify for the 200 breaststroke.....huge disappointment.

Can't wait for 8/8.

I like the winter Olympics as well...but I'm not a fan of the cold. Plus I'm far too klutzy to actually attempt any sport that involves ice or snow.

We've been watching the trials - caught the gymnastics, some of the swimming and lots of the track and field since that is what DD is most into. We can't wait for the 8th! We'll be watching every night I'm sure.

I'm an Olympic nut too! I am really looking forward to the Games and cheering on Team USA. My favorite events are the ceremonies, gymnastics, swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, and volleyball.

I watched some of the Olympic trials (if I had realized when they were I would've watched more), and I can't wait for 8-8-08! I'm a major Olympics junkie and TiVo can barely keep up, LOL. I always get all choked up when Team USA wins.

Count me in! But I've a particular interest in the men's gymnastics as a good friend & former teammate of my DS19 is competing. Most of the guys on the team my DS19 has worked with/known at some point, so it makes it much more interesting.

Me too! I'm so excited! My DH is dreading it - he watches, but isn't really interested.

We even got the chief to say we could watch while we're working after all of the daily stuff is done!!!!!

Count us in as total Olympics junkies!!

We are definitely more into the Summer games than the Winter ones. Both DH and I participated in Track and Field in high school, but like Jennasis, we are too klutzy to do any of the Winter stuff, which all seem to be on ice or snow!

We watched part of the swimming trials with our nephew, who is a state junior champ in the 100 m breaststroke. He was amazed at how fast these guys are!

And how about that Dara Torres! 41 years old, and she is kicking the butts of girls half her age! Her goggles are older than Michael Phelps!!!

I'd be much more excited if it wasn't on NBC. While I love Bob Costas, NBC does such a poor job with coverage. They refuse to show anything live! They still think it's 1976 and that nobody will know the results unless they see it on primetime network television.

I'm excited, too! Gymnastics has always been my favorite, so I'm really excited with Iowa's own Shawn Johnson competing this year. I also love swimming. Plus, the Opening Ceremonies are also so emotional. I am so glad President Bush will be in attendance to support the athletes, too. They deserve to march in and see the leader of their country standing and cheering for them!

Go Dara, go! They were interviewing Michael Phelps, and he calls her mom. They started that tradition back in his 1st Olympic games when he was 15, and now it has stuck. He made it pretty clear that he thinks she's amazing to be competing at the level she is at 41!
