Those of you have seen the show at Ollivanders, or been chosen themselves, would you be so kind as to spill what the spells were the selected person was asked to perform. I told my daughter what I have learned from you guys about Ollivanders, i.e., being picked and doing some spells with the wand to see if it has chosen you. She is sure she will be "chosen" and is now "studying" for our trip in August. :lmao: She is rewatching the movies and writing down the spells. :rotfl: She has read the books through several times, seen the movies several times, so I doubt any of the usual spells would evade her. While I think she is enjoying her "studies" I also don't want her to stress too much over this.
I know I put a lot of laughs in here, I just think DD is such a funny girl. This is how she does everything...such a Ravenclaw!

I saw Wingardium Leviosa, a lot of Aguamente and Lumos.
Also no spell, just a bell ringing wave of the wand.:wizard:

Thanks :goodvibes That should calm her down, she has over 15 spells already written down but those ones should come easily to her without study.

I had to do accio and "point the wand at the bell and concentrate" and my friend had to do Wingardium Leviosa and Aguamente. I've seen the show several times and participated and out of 6 trips to Ollivanders the only spells I've seen are lumos, accio, wingardium leviosa, aguamente and "point the wand at the bell."

They tell you *exactly* what to do and what to say immediately before you do and say it. No study needed whatsoever. She can calm down. :)

FYI if she likes wearing lanyards, there's a "house tie" lanyard that's pretty awesome. Especially in Ravenclaw colors (the best colors IMO). $9.95. :) I'd warn you about the scarf costs but you probably won't have as cold of temperatures as we did, so maybe that won't become a need like it did for us! (but if so, 34.95 and it's really lovely and very long and warm)

Thanks, great tip :thumbsup2 I think the scarf will be a "need" even in 100 degree heat.

Does anyone have any tips for being picked for the shop? My daughter would give ANYTHING to be chosen.

My 11 year old daughter was selected this past Monday. She was wearing her (Luna Lovegood) Spectraspecs and a Ravenclaw scarf. It could have been pure luck that she was selected, but I'm thinking the Spectraspecs made her stand out :)

When we were there a few weeks ago, a young mother of three kids was chosen. It was really cute!
