Ollivanders??

If you don't want to wait in line for the Ollivander "show" can you still get a personalized wand?? I think I heard you can get one at the Owl Post? How does that work?

You can just pick out the one that you want. There is no specific system to personalize the wands. There are wands from most of the major characters and the wands used in the shows that are not from any particular character.

If you are chosen in the little show, the CM picks out 3 wands for you, the last is the one that "chooses" you. If you want to skip the show you can buy any of the wands they have available, but no one picks it out for you.

I told my kids that if they want the wand they want then they should just buy them at the cart. There was a cart outside FJ and one under the gazebo at Olivanders.

Supposedly, your birthday plays a part im the wand you get in the owl post. My DD was not picked by Ollivander and went to a TM in the owl post. The TM asked for her birthday and then picked out a want for her.

I know the line into Ollivander's is very long but what about into Owl Post. My 3 teenagers love Harry Potter but feel the show at Ollivander's is lame (their words). We have watched the show several times on youtube and they said they didn't care if they just skipped it. I know we can buy wands on the cart but we would like to get into the shop. I think I have read there is a separate line but didn't know how hard it is to get into. Thanks!

The seperate line for Owl Post/Dervish and Banges was generally behind the shops in the alleyway. They'd let in a couple of people at a time because everytime Olivander's cleared out, the store would get swamped with 15 people at once. I think the wizards at the cart know how to help you find the wand with your birthday. Otherwise, go to the shop very early, or near closing if you want to get in without being shoulder to shoulder with others.
