Anyone know how much the wands are at Ollivanders?

My hubby did the "wand chooses you" thing and it was right around $30 so don't worry they will hit you for big $$ if you or your kids do that.

I think they keep the "wand chose you" choices in the moderate price range so parents with kids don't have to worry too much. Then you have the option of choosing a different, pricer one. But I doubt many people turn down the wand they get during the show because it's such a neat special memory. They give an annual pass discount too (which we made good use of).

Hi. I was just wondering if the wands actually do anything? Does the tip light up or maybe make sound effects? Also, are they made out of wood or plastic? And do the character ones cost more or less money than the chosen special ones? Thanks, just a curious muggle question that's all.

All of the wands I've seen are good quality wood, so they don't do anything.
I believe there are also wands that light up, but I'm not sure if they're sold at WWoHP - I've seen them on the WB Harry Potter merch site though.

I'd love to see some photos of wands that people have purchased so far.

Here are a couple of the unique to Ollivanders ones:

The little one is made of "hazel" and the other is made of "alder". Not sure what their cores are supposed to be.

Thanks for the info.

I might get one for my fiance so she could practice her charms. :wizard:

The $100 wand is a rumor. None of the Olivander wands or character wands sold as singles are anywhere near $100. The wand that started the $100 rumor was the TV remote control wand http://thewandcompany.com/ The rumor was they thought to include it in the offerings at Olivanders at one point, but I've not heard anyone say they've seen it. Right now, the only wands people have mentioned are the character movie replica wands (Noble Collection) about $25 for singles, (sets are probably around what they are here: http://www.wbshop.com/Wands/hpwands,default,sc.html ), and the new Olivander's wood wands which are only available in the park and are about $30 each

My son is definitely getting a wand at Olivanders. He has several of the character wands from the Noble Collection and they are beautiful, high quality products. I think they run about 30 and 40 for the light up. Even the box is gorgeous, so if these are the same quality wands, they are worth the cost. He does have one with a tip that lights up/off when you flick it, so I hope they offer those as well. How fun is all this HP stuff?

Mine gave me +100,000 points at MIB. :rolleyes1

You'll have to talk to Doc Brown about that one. The last flying car I saw, that was not a DeLorean, landed in the Dragon Challenge queue.

HA! I set you up for a Doc Brown and DeLorean answer and I knew you wouldn't disappoint.:thumbsup2

I know this is an of topic question that I've asked you before on another thread but since I can't find it I'll ask you again. Since I see your a BTTF fan I was wondering if you knew when the Bluray would be out? I think it would be great to see the ride sequences they had on the DVD remastered in HD! Maybe someday I'll fly overseas to relive the ride again. :upsidedow

Is there anyone out there that could pick me up a set of the main three wands (Harry, Ron, Hermoine)? I won't have any chance to be WWoHP till next year at the earliest.

I haven't heard any details about blu-Ray yet. Hopefully that happens before 2015! :p

You mean they don't tell you on the box? :(

I was kinda hoping that each box would have a nice detailed description of each wand: size, material, core...maybe some other neat wizard info as well.

I agree, it would be neat if we can order some of this merchandise they'r selling in the parks via online or something but then I want the experience of going there and shopping for these items myself.
