I have a PS in July, but have read 3 reviews that weren't great. I am considering cancelling. Any comments about Olivia's?

My PS (I have the Silver Plan)

Dinners:

6/30 - L'Originale Alfredo
7/1 - Hoop Dee Doo
7/2 - Fulton Crab House (if I can get PS)
7/3 - Whispering Canyon Cafe
7/4 - Olivia's
7/5 - Maya Grill
7/6 - Yachtsman Steakhouse

7/5 - Goofy's Beach Club (breakfast)

When we stay at OKW, we often eat at Olivia's. My husband loves to sit outside on the patio at Olivia's eating breakfast and drinking coffee. I personally like the sandwiches and desserts. I prefer lunch and dinner. It's fairly casual and the food is pretty good. We did Thanksgiving dinner there a few years back and didn't like it. As long as we stick to their regular menu items ( and there are a bunch) it's great.

We ate there two years ago and were disappointed, but I honestly cannot remember why. I am trying to encourage my husband to try it again when we stay there again....but he is not ready for it at all. I do remeber that they had a dessert for my son with gummy worms in it, the waitress told him that it was grubs (like in the Lion King) and my son was so excited about it!!! That part was the best part of the meal. but I am not one to say "never again"....I would like to give it another shot.

We ate there in January and couldn't wait to get outta there. Service was SO slow.

The food was good, tho., but $5. for a little bowl of soup?

Maybe you'll have better service than we did.

I have to say I'm always surprised when I read negative reviews of Olivia's. We've eaten there since '96, and have always had really good food. One time, I can remember that the service was slow. But we weren't in any kind of hurry that night, so it didn't matter.

We even get takeout from Olivia's when we're staying at Old Key West and don't feel like eating dinner.

That being said, it's not real fancy -- very laid-back in an Old Key West kind of way.

We've eaten there several times over the past 8 years. Honestly it's ok but nothing great. I have to agree with a previous poster..slow service and breakfast seemed to be better than dinner. It is never crowded and I believe there is a reason for that. I know everyone has different likes so you may want to give it a try, it is reasonably priced.

The biggest reason that it is never crowded is that all the units at OKW have either a kitchenette or ful kitchen. And it's hard to get to from other resorts.

We ate several meals there in November, and june of last year and didn't experience any problems or disappointments, I would go ahead and give it a try.

We were disappointed to find we weren't going to choose our breakfast. It was one of those family style, here's what you get type thing!

Guess that's ok if you know ahead of time that's what you'll be getting!

Laura -

They discontinued the character breakfast a year or so ago. Now breakfast is strictly order-your-own off of the menu.

WE have eaten in most all of the restaurants in WDW from the Chefs Table at the GF to walk -ups and we loved Olivia's. We had been staying at OKW and is was raining and we decided to give it a try. I had one of the best Filets cooked perfect ( which was more than the restaurant in Canada could do) there. We have taken our daughter and sil there also and they loved it. Now each time we go with them, that is where they want to eat. Yes, the service is a little slow, but I like that feeling that I am being pushed to eat and get out. We had a nice time just sitting there actually taking with each other for a little while, plus the food being so good.

We stay at OKW every year, we eat here a couple, three times each trip. The character breakfasts were awful, pre-plated and nasty. I am glad they ended them. The breakfasts are great when there is no characters.

They are not fast, but the place is so relaxing and good at bringing you back. Its a real nice atmosphere and the food is always good...at least now that they got rid of that nasty aligator thing.
