Olivia's, Crystal Palace and Shutters

Just returned from another magical stay and have 3 restaurant reviews:

Olivia's at Old Key West: A hidden treasure! This is a small restaurant in this pretty, but secluded, very residential resort. Food choices included prime rib, ribs, shrimp pasta and other American/Key West delicacies. Service was always with a smile. Prices were pretty good. Food delivery was prompt and food was simply delicious! I had the best prime rib that I've ever had. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Crystal Palace: Our 2nd experience and it was just as good as the first. Plenty of choices on the buffet and plenty of food. Great character interaction. Good service. Highly recommended!

Shutters at Caribbean Beach: A pretty good restaurant, although a bit pricey. Food was good, although portions were small. The menu was Caribbean in choice. Restaurant is recommended, but check the menu first.

Of the 3, Crystal Palace is the best choice with regard to quantity for your dollar. However, Olivia's was the best with regard to food quality!

Thanks for the reviews! I am so glad to hear that you liked Olivias - we are planning to go there when we go to WDW in 3 weeks. We have PS for dinner and we have never been there and have never heard anything about it - but we stumbled upon it in our research and thought it might be worth a try! I had planned to have the prime rib (after checking out the menu) so I am happy to hear it was so good!

I can't wait to try Olivias!!!

By the way - were there tables outside - In one of the books I read it said there were a few tables outside overlooking the waterway.

Crystal Palace was for dinner.

There are outside tables at Olivia's. However, due to the heat and humidity everyone was eating inside in the coolness. The tables are along a main walking thoroughfare so it might not be a tranquil dinner experience (it is not secluded).

Shhhhhhhhhhh about Olivias! We found this gem last year and can't wait to go there again this year. Excellent food, good Disney prices and we hand an outstanding server. I agree with you about the prime rib - think it's the best I've ever had at Disney and I thought the price for the prime rib was very reasonable. Others in our group had the petite filet and stuffed shrimp and the snapper with mango sauce. Everyone loved their meals.

Thanks for the great reviews. Olivia's & Shutters are two of the restaurants we have been thinking of visiting on our upcoming trip. Glad to see such a great review of Olivias.

Olivia's is at my home resort of OKW and we love it! We have a late lunch there at least twice during our stays....the lunch menu is served until 5:00 p.m. Dinner is great there as well, just a little pricier.

The Crystal Palace is another gem....and getting more popular every time we go! It is very difficult to eat there without PS. We've had some wonderful meals there and enjoy seeing the characters from Pooh.

Thanks for the fine review on "Olivia's Cafe." It is truly a hidden treasure. We always make it a point to eat there at least once every trip. Thanks again.

Never been to Shutters, actually, I have never been to that resort.

CP is always a favorite, it really feels like a step out of time and the buffet is never dissapointing.

Glad you like Olivia's, we stay at OKW almost every trip for the last ten years. Olivias has had some ups and downs, but we never miss eating there. It seems that the last menu rebirth has stuck for the longest.

We tried Olivia's for the first time on our last trip, and we really liked it, too. The food was delicious, the service was pleasant ans professional, and the atmosphere was restful and pretty. We would definitely go again!
