Olivia's banana bread french toast?- I found it and this is disgusting!

I always feel weird about ordering an off menu item. Are the waiters weird about it or do they know exactly what you mean? DH loves the platter.

DH ordered the non-plant based Loco Moco at Kona, which is technically off menu, and they didn't think twice. The waitress acted like it was a very normal thing.

I worked in food for a very long time. I had no issues with making something that was off menu as long as we had the ingredients. It is better if you can come at off times to do so, so that it does not slow the kitchen down, or that you don't get angry if it takes longer than usual. My thing is to just use common sense.

Nothing weird about it at all. Just be polite when you ask! :) At most it'll be a "no can do."
In cases like this they'll know as it was a very popular item that used to be on the menu at The Kona Cafe. If you ask for KoKo puffs they'll probably not know what you're asking for unless they've worked there forever. (And the answer will be sorry, no.) LOL
