Olivia's at OKW and resort slides

I have a few questions:

1. How is the food at Olivia's and other eateries at OKW (Is it really good, or just okay?)

2. Which on-site DVC resort has the longest slide, and which one has the shortest? (I know this is a silly question, but it's coming from my DS 6.5, and I don't know the answer.)
[I'm going to edit this question for my DS (6.5) - I think what he wants to know is how the slides rank. Which one is the fastest/scariest, the second fastest/scariest, the third, fourth, and fifth?]

3. How is the food at the Wilderness lodge?

Thanks everyone. :wave2:

1- I like Olivia's food. I think their breakfasts are wonderful! Very laid-back, very pleasant people there. I have not tried Goods to Go.

2- Can't help there

3- Well, WL has Artist's Point which is a Disney Signature rest. Outstanding food! Wispering Canyons--good basic food with some tom foolery mixed in to boot.

We like the food at Olivia's,, but it's not our family favorite. We enjoy the food at WL Whispering Canyon (?? I think that is the name), especially the desserts! It's also a lot of fun for the family, since the wait staff "plays" with the diners. Just ask for some ketchup....watch the fun that will follow :rotfl:

I'm not sure about the slides; I think that BCV still beats everyone out....but I can't say that definitively. My daughter has enjoyed them all so far. She is now 15, but she's been going on the slides since she was 10 or so.

We haven't had a chance to try the new OKW slide, but favorites to date include BCV's slide and BW. SSR's slide seemed small to her, as did WL's slide.

I'm sure you'll get more slide feedback as other DIS'ers read your post.
Have fun!!!

B'fast at Olivia's was decent to me, although I honestly prefer getting groceries and having b'fast in the room to save time. I don't like their dinners -- way overpriced to me and not great. DH had a chicken salad w/ raw chicken -- not too appetizing! For the same price, you can eat at a lot of other resorts with great food.

We ate at Olivia's for the first time (dinner) on our last trip and we really enjoyed it. The food was well prepared and fresh, the menu was varied and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is very 'comfortable' and also kid friendly (it is Disney after all). We're looking forward to eating there on our next trip.

I agree completely with this assessment of Olivia's. We ate there only on our first evening, after a 4 hour drive, CRT and a bit of MK. It will probably be noone's "favorite restaurant in the whole wide world," but we found an excellent selection of dishes, the food was quite good (better than expected), and the service was outstanding. I did not think Olivia's was overpriced at all, considering the amount and quality of food and where you are. I thought it was good value. We will certainly eat there at least once on every visit to OKW.

We only ate at Olivia's for breakfast but enjoyed it. We found the atmosphere very relaxed and low key. DH got the key lime pie from Goods to Go and it was delicious!

I think (correct me if I am wrong)
VWL really WL has the shortest
SSR next
OKW
BWV
BCV - SALB

i am not good at guessing distance - so anyone with the REAL numbers help :earseek:

the ones I am guessing are VWL, SSR and OKW.

Almost right. SSR slide is longer than OKW but slower. The scary clown slide at BWV has the largest slide, and creepiest in my opinion ;-). PENNY WISE!

Not sure about the slides....maybe BWV's is the longest but OKW's seemed faster to me ? Never been on SSR or SAB's slide. WL slide is very small----better for young children.
We like Olivia's very much. Nice, casual atmosphere. It's not our favorite---that would be Boma to date, but definitely good food and a good selection. We also enjoy Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL but feel you really need to be a meat lover because the variety is less than what you'll find at Olivia's. It's great for BBQ fare---and a fun atmosphere.
