Just a passing thought....

My family and I are going to be visiting the parks, we are NOT staying on site ( we live about 15mins away :p )

I have heard that Port Orleans have a fishing hole in which you pay a fee for a cane fishing pole and get to fish! My question is..do I have to be a guest to do this..or could I just go to the resort to have lunch and visit the fishing hole?

thanks for any info :)

We stayed last Labor Day at POR....they did not ask us for any identification for being a reosrt guest...so I would say you can go and eat lunch and fish without staying there.
Keep this in mind...you more than likely won't catch anything! We were there an hour and didn't catch one fish...neither did any of the other "fisherman". Those fish are savvy...they have lots of practice on how to get your bait without getting caught!

I second the "smart" fish theory.
We stayed for 30 minutes. We would throw a worm in and watch them catch it. Dangle it on the pole and NOTHING. They must be really well trained by now.
Still a relaxing time.

DH is avid fisherman - fresh or salt - and he caught NOTHING.

Was a waste of time and money.

We stayed at POR in Sept. and this was a highlight of our trip:D Our son caught 3 fish::yes:: He was only four at the time and thought this was the great!! We went very early in the morning so maybe that is the trick!! Good Luck!
