This was a thread we used to have a year or so ago -- it was fun and a good conversation starter. (I was in total awe of what sophisticated cooks we have here.)

Cooking: I am cooking baked macaroni and cheese for dinner tonight (shells are boiling atm). I make my cheese sauce from scratch with sharp cheddar, a little bit of feta, sauteed onion, a pinch of nutmeg, and butter. I toast my own breadcrumbs for the top. I'm also going to do a tossed salad to offset some

Drinking: Coke Zero (boring)

Reading: Exit Music by Ian Rankin This is supposed to be his last Inspector Rebus book; I'm gonna miss my occasional vicarious Ern-Bru, paracetamol, and cigarettes.:guilty:

Thinking about: Whether or not I'm going to get laid off or not and if I should get busy on my resume... again :confused3
-----
p.s. -- I dropped the g's in my present participles in the title just so everything would fit -- rather than as an expression of my regional vernacular... Pretty apparent that resume writing stuff is looming large on my horizon.

Cooking ----- probably pizza for dinner since I need to go grocery shopping :)

Drinking -------Trader Joes irish breakfast tea ( my fuel for the day)

reading -------the 6th Target James Patterson ( part of the womens mystery club series)

thinking about --------the dreaded chore of grocery shopping, plus i have to hit the bank too:)

Cooking: I'm sorry, I don't know what that word means. I'm told that it somehow involves that dusty appliance in the kitchen between the fridge and the sink?

Drinking: First cup of coffee of the day. Ahhhh........:surfweb:

Reading: Gaming the Vote: why elections aren't fair (and what we can do about it), by William Poundstone. Voting theory has been a long-standing interest of mine, and Poundstone is great at taking technical subjects and writing about them intelligently for non-academics.

Watching: on DVD, the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Also waiting for the Lost season premiere to be re-broadcast on Saturday night. I know, I could watch it on line, but it's not the same on my laptop screen.

Thinking about: the large pile of papers I should be grading right now.

Cooking: Ate the moment nothing. But I had shrimp salad (pre made from Costco) for lunch. Will be bringing some of that and some soup to work for dinner.

Drinking: Plain old water. Trying to keep well hydrated.

Reading: Night Call by Radclyffe. I just discovered her writing, and I so bored at work I read about a book a day there. Last week I read Above All Honor, and Passion Bright Fury. If anyone has any other titles by her, would you be willing to loan them? I'd happily send you a Paypal to cover shipping. At $15 a pop there paperbacks are getting expensive.

Watching: Catching up on my DVR including Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, and Top Chef (BTW hate this season), and All My Children.

Thinking: Two things. Padalyn and I celebrate our 5th anniversarry next month, and I am stuck on a gift for her. Secodnly, I'm outta work as of next week, and wondering what is next for me.

Cookin': Nothing! Corey is on KP for now. I will take over again Sunday.

Drinkin': Gatorade...any color other than blue. Even my dear sweet Corey knows that my motto is, "If it's blue, I'm gonna spew!" I have never tolerated blue foods or drinks at all....not even M&M's.

Readin': Lots of internet stuff.....news, blogs, Disney stuff, and so on

Watchin': Nothing enjoying the silence of the house. The dogs are asleep. The cats are asleep. Corey is out running errands for herself and for me. It's nice to have the peace and quiet.

Thinkin': Wishing that I had not gotten this bug. Hoping that the girls have survived the uber busy schedule without me there to help them over the past 3 days. Praying that I am not in major deep poo (no puns intended), even with a doctor's excuse when I get back on Monday.

Cooking: Cheese & Crackers (doesn't heat up the kitchen)
Drinking: Dancing Bull Zinfandel
Reading: some paperback - don't even recall the name
Thinking about: The next trip to WDW (not till May)

I don't cook.
Drinking Diet Dr. Pepper.
Not reading anything right now.
Watching Blues Clues. Well, not really, but that's what is on until I go put Miss Princess in the bath.
Thinking about a "situation" DS is having at school and wondering how it will play out.

Short version - teachers doing things they shouldn't be doing in class (nothing dangerous, just inappropriate), DS was asked to make a statement to an administrator about what goes on in class, teachers somehow find out DS was questioned and they confront him after school about what he said. :scared: He is a minor, so NOBODY should have questioned him without our consent. Well, too late now, and we are concerned for his safety. I e-mailed our attorney, she said it has been handled poorly but for now we'll just sit tight. I am SO GLAD it is Friday! :sad2:

I am sorry to hear that your little guy is having such troubles.

Once, I was questioned by the principal & the ::cop: at school without my parent's knowledge when I was in high school. Someone had written a death threat note to one of the coaches. The threatened coach was also my science & homeroom teacher. He was a huge jerk. My boyfriend was failing, big surprise :rolleyes2 , and was a suspect. Dad was not pleased to hear about my interogation after the fact at all. He gave them all an earful and then some. I had asked if he had been called and they said yes, which was a lie. I also asked if I could call him before talking with them and they said that he knew what was happening and that I should just go ahead and talk instead of wasting everyone's time. Many other parents besides mine were very ticked off too because we were all told the same story. Let's just say that I doubt that anyone directly involved with questioning any of us that day would ever make that mistake again. :rotfl2: They never did catch the person behind the note. I knew my boyfriend had not done it. His handwriting was totally illegible, unlike the note.

Having gone through that as a high school kid, I can't even imagine how much more confusing and scary it must be for a younger child to be put into such a position. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

Cooking: Nothing tonight. We ordered some French cheese from igourmet and will have that with a baguette and salad for dinner.
Drinking: right now, water. With our dinner, wine but haven't decided which
Reading: The Cloister Walk
Thinking About: How I have to get ready to go to MA on Monday and how cold I am right now and how it's only going to be colder there, and wondering how the Obamas are doing today and kind of worn out thinking about all the work I have to do and no time to do any of it thoroughly. (Yeah. I'm weird. So like you didn't know that)?

Thanks, Lindy! :goodvibes

He said he had a good day today. The semester just changed on Wednesday (no school Mon & Tues this week) and the teachers he was questioned about are not teachers he has this semester. BUT they are not on any sort of leave pending the outcome of the investigation, so that scares me.
