Older Pins?

Hello everyone! Please bear with me as this is my first post. My wife and I are huge WDW fans and go as much as we can. My first visit was in 1978 and we went together for the first time in 1994. I actually proposed to her in the WDW rose garden! I remember being nervous riding everything all day and walking around with her checking my pocket every 30 seconds to make sure the ring hadn't fell out. Don't ask me how, but I pulled it off and it's a memory we'll both cherish for the rest of our lives.

Anyway, during all those trips we never purchased pins. Magnets we purchased -- hundreds of them. We have a display in our basement that has become quite the discussion piece. But now we're thinking about creating some cork board wall displays for Disney pins. We're going to WDW again in June so I imagine we'll be bringing a lot of them home with us.

Here's the question. I would love to surprise my wife with some pins that we could have bought on our visits back then. I've searched over the net and I don't see any way to get pins from a certain year. For example I would love to get Magic Kingdom pins from some of the years back in the late 90's and since. Thank God some of the magnets we bought back then have the years on them, or I would never be able to remember which years we were actually there! :)

Is there a place to get those? I see lots of "regular" pins with Mickey and the gang on websites like eBay but nothing that specifically identifies a year and a particular park. I'm fine with paying extra because I know my wife will love them and it will be worth it.

Thanks so much for your help on this and the other thousands of questions I'm sure I'll come up with in the future.

Moving this to the Disney Collectors Board with a reminder that monetary transactions are not allowed through the Disboards. Please do not offer to buy or sell items here or through PMs.

I wasn't offering to buy anything from anyone personally. I asked where I could get them.

Realistically, the secondary market (like eBay) is going to be your best/only bet at this point.

Websites like pinpics.com can help you identify what pins are out there, but aside from specific events (e.g., MK's 45th Anniversary), I don't know how easy it will be to find pins with specific years printed on them.

We bought older pins from toy / collector shows. Take a look online and see if any shows are going on near you. Good luck
