Older paper ticket

What do I need to do if I have a paper ticket from 2004. I have 4 days left on it and want to use it on my trip in April, but was told I could only activate and link it to my magic band at guest services when I get there. That would mean I couldn't make my FP reservations ahead of time?? Is there any other way to do this??

I was told the same thing, but I called back and a CM put the information in the computer for me.

I mean if they can do it at guest relations, why can't they do it on the phone?
