How hardcore are they about the kids menu being for 9 and under? Because $125 for my 11-year-old to order food she's not interested in is kind of a deal-breaker.

I don't have an answer, but I am also interested in the answer to your question. That's too much money for a 12 year old to eat 1/3 of her food.

I can't speak from experience, but given Disney policy at WDW and DL about prix fixe and kids/adult menus, I'd expect they can order whatever they want, but they will pay the adult price.

Might be best to skip if you're not comfortable with the pricing for a 10-year-old.

They have accommodated our child (12) before, as we mentioned that she still prefers the kids menu. I even joked that if they could get her to even TRY the adult menu, I'd pay full adult price. In the end, they were very sweet, and even accommodated us a couple more times during our stay. I think the FOH has a good idea who is just looking to get away with things.

Same question here! Its good to know we may be able to order off the kids menu! My 11 year old and 13 year old are both small - they are adventurous eaters but there is no way it makes sense to order from the adult menu for either of them. Plus, I appreciate the savings!

While your children can order of the keiki menu, they will still be charged for the adult menu. Just like WDW.

I feel like the rules such as "keiki menu is for guests under the age of 9" are there to protect themselves from the cheapskate family who goes to a nice place like 'Ama 'Ama and orders a round of ice water, shares an entree among a few people, has others order off the keiku menu, and stays for a long time taking legitimate business away from the restaurant and tip income away from the server.

If you, on the other hand, have a normal meal (e.g. order some drinks, every adult gets their own meal, etc.) and your 11 year-old wants to order a kid's meal, I don't think they'll have any problem with it.
