My daughter did the Pirate Adventure at Grand Floridian when she was around 4 yrs old and really enjoyed it. Now she says she wants to go back, but she'll be 8 on our next trip. Has anyone sent kids this old on the PA? Did they like it or find it too young? It's listed for up to 10 yrs old, but when I look at thepictures of the kids who went with her, they all look pretty young.

My daughter went on the Pirate Adventure this November. She is actually a very mature 8 year old but still loved the cruise. I did notice that many of the other children came with brothers or sisters and were paired together for the cruise/treasure hunt. Because she was alone, she was grouped with two little girls who may have been 4 or 5. She loved that as well and still talks about the friends she made on the trip.

My grandkids did it last summer ... Christian and Wm were 10 and 9; while Cissy wasn't quite 8 ... they had a blast!

I'm glad to see these comments. Our DS (4) and DD (mature 8) are going on the Pirate Adventure next month. pirate:

Good to know. Our DD will be 10 when she does it next year. She's already excited. If I thought there was a sliver of a chance Capt.Jack Sparrow would be there, I'd be a stow-a-way :rotfl: A girl can dream, can't she?? pirate:

My kids did it this December they were 8 and 9 . They had a great time. Most of the kids were younger (5 or 6) but there were a few older kids. They each had to buddy up with another child and my DD paired up with another 9 year old girl and my DS paired up with a kid who looked about 7.

My DDs did this in December at ages 5 & 8 and had a whale of a time :)

Thanks for the reports, folks. Sounds like it's still a good idea for her.

I just posted a similar question on the Tips board and then stumbled upon this. I do have one other question, though ... DS (age 8) has never gone and thinks he might like to. He's wondering what the treasure is. Could anyone advise, please?!

According to my grandson they find a wooden treasure chest ... inside the chest are individual bags (colored lunch bags) filled with trinkets and candy ... stuff you'd get in a party goody bag.

Last summer my *guys* got bandanas with ears ... in 2003 Wm just got a plain bandana.
