Has anyone had an older child in Pinocchio's Workshop? I see that it's for kids 5-12, but my DS will be 11 and I don't know if they really intend for kids that old to be there. Anyone have experience? How did your kids like it?

We just returned yesterday and our son who is 8 and 3/4 spent two evenings in Pinocchio's Workshop. It seemed that there were a few kids in the 6-8 year old range but not any older kids. Although we would have been happy to have our son have dinner with us, he preferred to go to the "kids club" so that he could play computer games with other kids. I guess it depends on the interests of the individual child.

I am bumping this one up because I ,too, have an 11 year old. Although we were not planning on leaving him when we go to DL in August, I am interested in others experiences with this, just in case we wanted to say go to Nappa Rose and he did not want to go. Thanks for posting Blackunicorn. Anyone else have a 10-12 year old use the Pinnochio's Workshop and enjoy it? Thanks!!

I am most interested in this because it will be our 15th anniversary, and I want some NO KID time. (DL isn't just for them!) But I most likely won't want to leave my DS alone in the room. So what do parents of older children do? Do they get a sitter? Don't go?

If it is for ages up to 12 then ages up to 12 are welcome, now whether or not there will be OTHER kids that age well one can never tell.

What you do with your "older" children is up to you and what you are comfortable doing. What would you do at home with that child, would you leave them home while you went out? If the answer is NO then I certainly would not recommend doing it at Disney. If you DO leave them home alone then you can consider doing it there too.

How about leaving him at Lego Imagination Center with $100 bucks and a juice box?:) :) :)

Blackunicorn: We, too, are celebrating our 15th anniversary this year (June) but our trip is in August. I hear you about wanting alone time. I forget when you said you were going, we will be there the week of the 23rd. My ds is 11 too, too bad they could not hook up together at the Pinnochio workshop, then they would not feel like the "old" kid. Well, good luck with your decision. i am sure if you let him stay there for a couple of hours, he would be fine with that.

year2late : That is a good one! I know if I would, mine would be thrilled at a video arcade with a 100 bucks. Ha!

Okay, that's 15 minutes of our dinner out, then he'd come looking for us to get more money. LOL! :p

PS--disgirl, we won't be there until September 27th.
