Old Treehouses, THV and mosquitoes?

Does anyone who stayed at the old treehouses remember whether there was a mosquito problem? And does anyone have any ideas on whether they might be a problem when THV open? I was telling DH about the Treehouses being transformed into the THV and he said that if the area is designated wetland then there are sure to be loads of mosquitoes so we're never staying there We've had a couple of recent camping trips where mosquitoes have eaten us alive in spite of lots of bug spray.

Nope, no mosquito problem. We've also camped at Fort Wilderness which also has a lot of standing water, and never had a problem there either.

Disney does spray regularly at FW and I'm sure they do the same at the Treehouses.

I've stayed at so many different resort (Ft Wilderness twice) at all times of the year and dont EVER recall a mosquito problem anywhere on property! Anyone every have problems w/ mosquitoes anywhere on property?

We had no problems with mosquitos when we stayed there at all.

Given the location of the treehouses, a mosquito problem there would also mean a mosquito problem at SSR, OKW and Port Orleans. They are literally right next door. There are just more trees at THV. I've never had a mosquito problem at OKW, even on the boat that goes right by the treehouses.

I don't know about THV, but I was eaten alive my mosquitoes at OKW last week. We were staying in the Turtle Pond area and the river was right behind our building. I picked up four or five bites every day. Still, I can be in a room with 500 people and one mosquito and the mosquito will inevitably find me so it is no surprise. Conch Flats General Store had some really effective stuff to deal with the bites so it did not impact my enjoyment of the vacation at all.

Chuck...thanks for the graphic. It's one thing to get the aerial view but the additional graphics you added makes it really easy to see how things lay out.

I knew we had seen THV area many times on our trips but this map provides a great orientation to their location.
