***Old Timey Words You Use***

I pick up "old timey" words from time to time and just fall into the habit of using them.

I use "rifted" all the time. My grandmother is 83 and she says that instead of saying "I burped" she says "I rifted". Anyone else use any old timey words?

Rifted?
Half and again?

I use the word shenanagins alot.. I teach nursery school and will often say Ok you guys no shenanagins... cracks my co teacher up...

Does "cull" count? As in "I enjoy eating hamburgers AND hotdogs. When it comes to grilled meat I don't cull much." If so, I kind of use that word a lot

hmmm well my grandparents raised me so we have an ice box aka fridge and we use lifting rags aka pot holders when me and DH first got married he acted like i was crazy...but just the other day he asked me to get something out of the icebox

Ok but you are going to laugh at this one. My grandmother used to use the words "step ins" instead of underware.

Also screen door instead of storm door.

Some people look at me funny just for using the word "neat". I guess if it's not "hot" — or "hawt" — then it's not "cool".
