Old tickets ?

We have about 7-8 old tickets with any where from 2-3 days left on them another ticket that was a childs ticket. When we bought tickets they were non expiring and could go between parks freely. It's only hubby and I that will use them. They only have our last name on them no first names. What is the best way to use these? Just checked its a total of 13 days.

You should be able to use all but the child's ticket.

The child's ticket should be usable by the (adult?) that was a child when the ticket was originally purchased. I believe they can tell when the tickets were purchased and would want to see ID to verify the person was a child at that time.

We bought the ticket for our son at the time and we all ended up getting sick down there and the other few were from when we had tickets got almost to disney and realised we forgot tickets so we bought more.

If a ticket is completely unused (in the case of the ones you left at home on accident), it can be used by anyone. If a ticket has been partially used, it is only to be used by the person who used it originally.

The tickets that were left at home were 10 day passes with only 5 days used and were told they NEVER expire which is why we bought another set when we forgot set at home. Back then they never expired.

Those tickets with just a couple of days on each are pretty valuable. If you go and plan on spending a long time, I would probably hold onto the ones you described and save them for short visits.

They had no regular days left on them but a bunch of pluses (Water Park and Disney Quest etc.) When we presented them at Disney Quest they did need to check the computer to find how many days were left on them and reprint them. Not a huge deal, but something to factor in to your morning is a possible stop at guest services.

we've done this before.... in fact,we'll do it again next time! I still have some older non-expire passes from at least 5 years ago,plus some old passes with just a few extras left on them....we will use them next trip
one ds has outgrown his 'child' pass,so I will go to guest services and get it changed into an adult, for the remainder of the days...as for who used which pass last time (?) we don't remember,and they sure don't since there aren't names or finger id's attached to any of them.....I don't think we scanned fingers back when we got these....

I have some old tickets also from 2002. When did Disney start using the finger scan. Some of the tickets belong to my sister and my daughter when she was younger. Does this mean if no finger scan is attached that anyone can use them?

I don't know when the scans started..... I know we didn't get any scans on a regular basis over the years..... Also if you use them and there is a problem just go to guest services, and have them fix the problem, if they scan for 'finger width' like they claim, well....finger sizes change over the years....I wouldn't hesitate to to push the issue if I had to- I paid for these non expire tickets, I know I can use them for our family still.
I do know I have in the past switched an old child pass for my "disney adult' to use.... I think we got a scan once or twice,using a different type of ticket

What about Free dining tickets that were not used? When we booked free dining we had to buy 1 day ticket per person. We had annual passes so did not use these tickets. We are hoping to be offered free dining again this Dec and again will have to purchase at least a 1 day ticket. When we check in can I add the value of the ticket we already have to the 1 day we are buying and upgrade to a 10 day? I hope that is not too confusing

No. You cannot combine two tickets to put toward one ticket. I would just hold on to the unused tickets you have and save them for another trip when you won't be buying tickets to get a dining plan.

By definition an upgrade is taking one ticket and adding cash (or similar) and ending up with one ticket with more entitlements. You cannot combine two tickets to get one ticket with more features.*

An upgrade is adding days or options to a MYW ticket, or converting it to some level of annual pass, or taking some level of annual pass and converting it to a higher level of annual pass.

* The only exceptions to this rule is at the water parks (or DQ) where you can combine a one day water park (or DQ) ticket with a base or hopping MYW ticket and a payment to end up with a MYW ticket with the WPF&M option or any level of AP to a PAP. Your payment will be the difference in price between the one day water park (or DQ) ticket and the cost of the WPF&M option (or AP upgrade) plus tax on the difference.

I had a lot of old tickets and took them all to guest services and had them check each one to see how many days I had left on them. I had all unused days tickets put on 3 new tickets. Which we end up having three - 7 days passes. I never wrote anyone names on the tickets back then. I wouldn't have been able to tell you which ticket was for whom. Some were children tickets, which I then needed to make to adult tickets. The guy at guest service told me how much money I would need to add to make them adult tickets. He took old tickets I added a few more dollar but I was able to get rid of all our unused tickets.
