I have an old unexpired ticket with two days on it.
IS there a way to add an additional 4 days to this ticket -thus making it less expensive for me? or do I have to purchase a new ticket with 4 more days on it for my trip ?

You cannot upgrade the ticket. The smart thing to do is to buy a 6-day ticket for this trip and save the old ticket for a two-day trip or 2 one-day trips.

Is it a regular ticket that is "old" or a non-expiring ticket with two days left on it?

If it's just an "old" never been used ticket, after you enter the park, go to Guest Relations and add on your 4 days.

If it's a non-expiring ticket that is old and with two days left, as Alesia stated, you can't upgrade it.

Tickets can only be upgraded within 14 days of first use, and that applies to no-expiration tickets, too.

That is true only if the ticket is a "Magic Your Way" ticket.
MYW tickets debuted in Jan. 2005.
A ticket older than that can't be upgraded, even if it was never used in the past.
