OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Just read the question about the room located near the Marketplace.... Where is the Marketplace located?

Do the bathtub/showers at the Beach Club have those retractable clothes-line thingies??

I can't remember......

When you are in the lobby of the Beach Club, facing the back entrance (Crescent Lake side), the Cape May Cafe is on the right and the Beach Club Marketplace (quick service meals and merchandise) is in about the same location to the left.

Well it looks like maybe I belong in here now!
We were booked for August at AoA but got a rate from Magical Vacations for the Yacht Club that was just too good to pass up!! In fact we're paying less :)

We've stayed at several resorts but only at BWV as far as the Epcot resorts. We LOVED the area and the convenience of being so close to two parks.

The only rooms available for this deal were Standard View so we know it will be parking lot or rooftop view. Does anyone know a good area to request or even know where the Standard View rooms are located around the resort?

My 8 year old loves a good pool slide and we are really excited to finally spend some time at Stormalong Bay.

Looking forward to getting to know you in this thread. It's really informative and I've been reading through it all day:)

Yay, another August buddie :thumbsup2

Comparing tickers you must arrive the day after our wedding (22 August)

My family thinks the Disney gods are trying to make sure we can handle the Florida August weather. We went for a bike ride around Boston today to visit the Tall Ships. They are visiting to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the War of 1812. OMG it was HOT and HUMID! We are home now and we are all a pile of mush.

How are we going to be able to handle the late August Disney weather? We are planning on lots of pool time. Any other advice?

Walk through the shops - the AC is fab.

Live report check in from the balcony of room 2573 :

Today was similar to yesterday( we are primarily Epcot and DHS people) Started the day off early by working out in the fitness center then it was off to
EMH at DHS - rode TSM 2x and TOT . Did some shopping. DH got a r2d2 lunch bag. I am still scoping out my options. I did get a Mickey ice cream bar for breakfast.
SAB for a good portion of the day where I floated around the lazy river for a good portion of the day and rode the Jib slide for the first time:thumbsup2

Walked around the world showcase and rode Living with the land.

Yachtsman for dinner. Omg it was fantastic:cloud9: had the filet. Yum. Onion rolls were soooo good. Oscar our waiter was fantastic and we made sure to tell the manager on the way out. He made our night so very special :)
Off to bed now though. A bit tired from all the sun.:cool2:

I'm very happy to hear that the yachtsman was fantastic! I have a very nondisney dh, and I made a reservation here for our first night. I'm hoping to change his mind lol. :thumbsup2

Question for anyone who has eaten at Captain's Grille recently or anyone who is there now that can find out for me.

Did they switch from the lobster sliders back to a lobster roll? The CG menu on the Dis that says its updated as of 5/2012 says "New England style lobster roll" so I was wondering if they changed back.

Thank you!

Be at the parks ar rope drop and ht the major attractions before the heat really turns up. Have lunch at the park or not, but definitely head back to your hotel for some pool andnap time. I don't care how old you are, the break is essential for everyone's sanity. Head back to the parks after dinner when it's cooler. You'll be glad you did!

Body Glide looks a lot like a stick of deodorant. It is a gel that you put on your thighs or feet to prevent or soothe chafing.

I purchased mine at Olympia Sports, any place like that should have it. Not sure if Walmart carries it or not.

IIRC, it was around $7-9 for a stick.

Thanks for the help!!! I will have to pick up a stick!:goodvibes

C'MON BCV GODS, BRING ME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!:littleangel:

We're heading down at the end of July, but I'm stll hoping my BCV waitlist request comes through and I can come home for our vacation. Right now, we have a 2 BR across the lake at BWV, but I soooo want my first DVC vacation to be at our home resort.

I'll be happy at BWV, but ecstatic at BCV!!!!!

Teena is heading back from her mom and daughter Dude Ranch Adventure as we speak.

According to her texts, Teena had a SUPER VACATION, the Dude Ranch was amazing and the guest services at Elk Mountain Ranch were awesome! The fires in Colorado did not affect their trip.

Here are the pictures from Jeanne's phone- she will be uploading the ones from her camera in the next day or two.
